and I'm down another 5 lbs!
That makes it about 20 since I started the diet 8 weeks ago!
I'm now down to about what I weighted last summer with the gall bladder surgery!
And I'm not hurting or hungry - this is almost fun! I don't feel deprived, and its not like we can't adjust it for my weird allergies!
So, do any of you have good news to share!

No, not really. I am not going up anymore, but I am not going down. I pulled a muscle in my back about sixteen days ago and it just plain old hurts. I do not want to do anything. On the other hand, I am thrilled for you, you are moving toward a healthier you, even with you "weird" allergies.

That's great news and good for you! The best part is that you're not hurting or hungry, so hopefully things will continue this way and then you'll be taking part in the next Olympics I suppose, yes? My good news is that I woke up today, the sun is shining and in one and a half days, my weekend starts. Simple pleasures!

I actually woke up with there being no electricity in my apartment building, but the sun was still shining outside! It came back on before I left for work though, so it wasn't all bad. I've been alarmed myself when seeing how iced up my freezer is, but it doesn't have it's own alarm.

Good news? Hmmm... well, my cholesterol is lower than my husband's! Mine isn't where I want it to be at 260, but his is a whopping 338! I'll be getting more life insurance on him as soon as (if EVER) I'm approved for disability! I can buy term insurance, too; much cheaper premiums than whole life... if he keeps going the way he is, he won't last 20 more years, that's for sure!
I'll be working on lowering mine but I know he won't. He'll keep eating and drinking what he wants because he's convinced himself that his bad habits aren't going to kill him. The thing is, the bad eating/drinking/smoking habits he has DO kill! I just may be a very wealthy woman one day! Guess that's one consolation for putting up with his crap all these years.
Apart from that, no good news. I'm still waiting to be approved for disability, even though my hearing was way back in February.
Well, my husband has been behaving himself lately. He has been trying to be less of a jerk than he was being, although I'm not fooled by it and have a plan in place so he will never be able to stress me out again, ever! So, that's good news, kinda.

Good for you! I've lost about 25-30 pounds since moving in with my daughter and her family. Of course when you only eat one meal a day that usually happens. Not to mention her cooking is worse than mine so I eat only a little. Now I have been trying to tone up the flab. Man it takes a long time to see results doesn't it? I'm glad I have lost the weight. I just wish I could get rid of the belly a little faster.

My news is kind of good news bad news type. The bad news is that it will be about 6 months before my knee replacement is totally healed. (Not good for a person who is as impatient with illness and injuries in themselves as I am.) The good news is that I was released today to drive. It's been 6 weeks of hell knowing that I have had to rely on someone else to drive me everywhere. Bill (my BF) is a doll and would do anything for me, but that isn't the point. It was the fact that part of my freedom was missing.
Congratulations on the five pounds. I need to check my weight, I know I've been dropping, but I haven't been keeping track. I don't eat well with the horrible heat we've been having, so I have yogurt for breakfast and a salad for lunch. Then dinner is a small box of noodles. I also only allow myself one of my favorite chocolate balls a day. So, I am sure with the eating and the amount of ice water I am drinking the weight has been dropping.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Yeah, I've been having to really watch what I eat, but since I have made my lunch kind of ahead of time, and know what I'm having for breakfast, so pretty much its only dinner I have to worry about.
Yeah, I know about that driving stuff. I wasn't supposed to drive for about 10 days after the shoulder surgery, but I was getting calls from my mom and so I went to a car supply place and got a steering wheel ball and the guy put it on my steering wheel so I could drive with one hand. Same thing with my reduction surgery, I wasn't released to drive for 2 weeks, but I was behind the wheel in a week. Nothing major, just to my mom's and work. I had a job interview the week after the surgery.

I'm stuck after losing 18 pounds. How are you doing it? I've always found portion control the best way for me to lose weight but I've been under a lot of stress lately and eat more than I should before I realize it. I've also cut way down on salt, which is still difficult but not impossible for me. So briefly, what kind of plan are you on?

it is portion control, and eating lots more veggies/fruit - the roomie is being monitored by the gastric bypass people, I'm just sneaking in for the weigh ins... Salt isn't a big issue for me, in fact, I have been told in the past when I spent more time outside in the summer, that I needed more salt.
I also am not losing "water weight" as SOME* people have claimed, since I'm actually drinking MORE now.
*not here, but away from here

That's happy to hear :-)
I don't have a scale at home, I can't weigh myself though... but I could tell I'm getting thinner as the days go by because I dont'eat as much as I did so my stomach is not streched and I don't feel very good lately, I just don't feel like eating very much.
