A Truly Testing Time

There is enough cause for worry.Failing health with financial instability to meet the crisis.Isn't it a testing or trying time for most of us facing it.Being believers could anyone hope for the interference of God in setting things on the right vein. It is truly a matter of faith. Eleventh hour and God not forsaking....

I am going thru one of the most testing times of my life right now. Though my husband and me had gone thru some very rough patches on and off, we were OK for quite sometime so its all the more difficult for us to again having to readjust and wait for good times to come. Money was never overflowing with us and the little that we could save, now looks to be lost again. It seems that we are just building are rebuilding our nest only to have one storm after the other, crash and break it into pieces. Just this morning I was talking to myself about seeking help from God…if by the first week of August there is no good news, we are doomed for I don’t know how long. However, I could not ask God for interference, it seemed too selfish to do that. What I asked instead is for strength to help us overcome this critical situation.

Thank you so much for the nice and encouraging words. As I said, I look to God not for deliverance but for strength to overcome these times…thank you again for praying for me. but just sometimes you know, it all seems so unfair to me…I personally know of people who always have a good and steady inflow of income, yet here we are having to struggle again and again and again…*sigh*…at times I feel so tired and frustrated.

Don't despair. As bad as it has ever been, didn't you have food to eat, shelter, each other and God? I've been there, too. That's all you need and though it's disheartening when you're living in a tent and eating peanut butter, there are many, many people who have less. I hope things get better for you. I just lost my savings, too, and don't have the comfort of a husband any longer but God is my rock. He'll give you strength when you need it! I'll pray for you and hope that things get better and that you are given reason to hope.

Hi sukumar, We all think differently I know, yet I feel that there have been many more testing times than these. Any interference into the affairs of mankind will always come in a very orderly fashion as has happened in the past and most people will not recognize it. It has been that way all through history and things are not likely to change now. In the past many great and wise men and women have arisen at such times of crisis and I believe they will again. Blessings.

No offense intended to anyone or any religion or belief - just sharing my thoughts. I strongly believe in the existence of a creator - lets use the male gender and the term 'God for him as is convention, without wanting to be sexist. Now - to your discussion - We have been equipped with a mind and tools such as limbs, etc., why should God interfere? I think that we have to help ourselves out to the extent possible and leave the rest to fate. As far as I am concerned, no religion truly defines God, there just is a lot of conjecture about man (and woman, all humans) being created in God's image and in reward and punishment. I think that any true God would be far beyond such human attributes. The concepts that all religions have about God are useful if one were to use God as a crutch (which I have started doing, quite like you with rising age and the frailties that come with it) Wish you all the best!

Before we even ask God for mercy, we must have strong faith in Him. Prayers without faith will have no effect. Maybe we should pray for faith that we'll be healed before we pray for healing. It is written in the bible 'If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.'

Well we sure can ask but we also have to understand that sometimes it's just the time in our life when we are cornered completely and have to let it go. it's true that health is more important than wealth. failing health means we lose wealth. so if you have to pick, pick health. I'm doing exactly that. I almost fell into depression but I decided that I don't take the house or the shop to my grave, so if I lose it then so be it. I will do my best to survive, other than that, I won't let it make my life miserable.

Have you noted signs of another presence that is unexplainable by convention, by scientific means? I'm just being a curious bug...

I think it should all start with praying for faith because it is all too easy to lose the belief that all that is occurring in the world right now is for the greater good of all. There are reasons and great lessons during these trying times and the difficult part is holding on to that conviction.
