How would you react if your found a fly in your soup?

Would you yell out or would you calmly report about the same? How would feel having enjoyed the soup without the knowledge about the fly in it. I know that people react in different ways and some even take a violent turn. I am not that extreme reaction types, so maybe I'll call the waiter and report the same. Has anyone gone through such an experience? What would you do if you were in one?

I am not one to make a public scene, though i am not the shy type either. But reacting like a three year old over something like that would not put me at a high level. I would more than likely tell my waiter in a calm way. They would handle me better that way, also people would not look at me like some childish person. I realize anything could happen to anyone, i do not have to yell over it. Keep smilin'!(:

Yeah, even I am of the same type. I would calmly report the thing to the waiter and ask for another dish or my money back. But, if they were to accuse me of spoilsport then I wouldn't take it and make the right type of noise, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, but that would be unkind of them. Especially of the reason you told them. I'd probably ask to speak to their boss if they did that to me. Ha ha.

Hello there, Interesting question, and this is a real story. But haven't you noticed that, there is no news about this matter?Why?...have you ever asked why?...Instead of reporting the case to SANITATION AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT,the complainant usually get paid by the restaurant owner in order to keep silent. If ever i will be in this situation,i will surely talked with the management and report them to the SANITATION DEPARTMENT,it could be just a fly in my soup, but still it concerns with the sanitation and health of the costumers which the restaurant/hotel owner should be takin care of.

I agree with your stand. If you allow such a negligence to go by, then may be it will be repeated again. But, if they are brought to book they will be very, very careful in future.

Change the soup! I would yell out if the waiter had no polite attitude. This is the restaurant's fault, not mine. The troublemaker should take full responsibility.

I think if it first arrived on the table and I see it, I will immediately tell the waitor or wasitress that to look at the fly; if I find it when I am eatingin the middle, I will justleave it there because it might fall on the soup while I was not looking, cannot blame anybody.

Yup, you're right, but we can always claim that it was there before and get another dish or ask for a refund.

I will stop eating the soup right away. I can not stand to eat soup with fly on it. It is so disgusting. More over the fly could have fly from very dirty place like toilet. I hate fly. If I am in the restaurant, I will tell the restaurant and let them know what was happening with the soup. If it is happen at home, meaning I have to be extra careful next time. I need to make sure all the food and soup is to be covered.

i would be grossed out for sure but i would not make a spectacle of myself in the process. if it happened at home i would throw it out and then rinse my mouth with mouthwash and perhaps throw up. if it happened in a restaurant i would refuse to pay for my meal.

I would definitely report is quietly. Things happen and even though I would most likely not continue the soup or the rest of the dinner I would definitely stay away from drama. You never know whose fault it is and specially with food. There are insects all around and sometimes it just becomes impossible to control each of them. I would rather be more frustrated if I found a hair on t as it would be something that is supposed to be controlled and under supervision. Basically, I believe in trying the best to resolve issues in quiet.

Luckily, I never had an incident like you mentioned. If I would be in the same situation, I would quietly call the waiter and inform him of the fly that is in my soup. And I would definitely call the store supervisor because the store's sanity is important. The welfare of the customers should be their utmost concern.

I would quit eating what was left of the soup. I then would proceed to spit out any of the soup I had in my mouth. I lately would summon the waiter over and ask them do they normally serve a fly in all of their soups.

If I see it when it is served, I would tell the server. If I find it when I am eating, I would call a server to my table and tell them to take it away. I would either ask for another serving of the same dish, or a refund or some kind of compensation.

I would be like 'eww' and tell the people to make me another one, because I just would not have a soup with my knowledge something like a fly has been in it.

I think I would react fairly calmly but would not want any more soup. I would just ask the waitperson to report to his or her manager and to take the price of the soup off my bill. Finding that fly in my soup would make me lose my appetite at least maybe for the restaurant that I was eating in. I would wonder if they had some health inspection issues or just a fluke. I know things happen sometimes beyond our control too.

Never had that experience. I might tell the waiter and ask some replacements but not really shout. Besides, the shame is on me not them.

I once had something that looked like cockroach egg in my plate of noodles!!! Yucks, I know it's gross (sorry if you lose your appetite), and I had it changed immediately. No, I wouldn't yell and get public attention. A complain works for me. I've had flies in my soup and my glass of water too, but at a different restaurant. Sigh... bad hygiene.

I really hate when I find a fly around me, especially in my soup. I would not eat it, and throw my food away. Althought it waste food, it is safer for my health.

I would calmly complain. But, there's no way I'd let them get me more soup. What if there's more flys in there, or what if it's the same soup the just cooked with a fly in it? I'd expect some kind of free food or something, but I wouldn't be a jerk about it. The waiter/waitress is just doing their job, they don't deserve to be yelled at. Unless they put the fly in there themselves! What if you put the fly in your mouth without noticing, and then spit it out, realizing it was a fly? Would you actually yell at the waiter then? I might, haha!
