Have you seen the movie rental dispensing machines in places like Walmart or Walgreens Drug Stores? They offer newly released DVD rentals at a very nice price. One dollar
We have been using them for quite some time now as they do seem to have some great titles to choose from and the drug store is not that far from our home so we can rent a movie and take Marley for his walk, killing two birds with one stone.
Have you ever used Redbox? Were you happy with the selections they offer or were you disappointed in them?
How many DVDs to you rent in a week?

I have been using Redbox for about 6 months or so now. I love it because you only pay $1.00 for 1 day rental. I mean I haven't set foot in a video rental store in years. Those places are just way too expensive and whenever I did rent from them I paid around $4.00 and only kept the movie for 1 day anyways, so what's the point of paying extra money? I would rather pay $1.00 any day!
They have a great selection of movies and I have never had a problem yet.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I used to be a customer for Hollywood video and the last time we went I sent my daughter with a 5 dollar bill and what I can tell you is that she could not rent the movie, it was that bad but I can't remember how much it was, just that she couldn't rent it.
So yes, a dollar for a movie, and a dollar per day after that is a great deal.

To be honest I haven't even noticed anything like that. I wonder if they have it in Canada. I used to rent DVD quite often, but lately we haven't rented any. ON the other hand for a buck I could go for it. Although in here it would be much more than that for sure.

LOL... nah..... don't think I would travel that far to get a video hehe Long long time ago, when I lived in Portugal we used to go to Spain for a coffee when we were bored, but we were young and crazy anyways ... specially since the coffee wasn't that good either LOL
I guess the distance for that or for us to go to the states for the video would be the same, but the age and the patience is different - we're still crazy but in a saner way hehehehehe

I've never used it myself, but they have them in all the grocery stores around here. I don't rent movies that often. In fact, I can't remember the last time I rented a movie! My boyfriend has a Netflix account. I use the "Watch Instantly" feature a lot, but I don't watch the DVDs we get in the mail that often.

There's a device you can get so you can watch movies instantly on your tv with your Netflix account! Also, if you have an XBox 360 you can watch movies in your Netflix instant queue on your tv using the Xbox! That's how I watch them! Most of the programs even stream in HD!

I have used it since its down the road right in the McDonalds store well outside really, but sometimes the movies i want are already gone..you'd think they'd stock the box more instead of putting only a handful of new movies in there..oh well i'll go back next week when they are after newer movies and i can be a week behind..thats not a weak behind..lol..and i usually rent two..

My mom one day brought home a DVD from Redbox and we actually thought it was a pretty good deal for a buck. We actually don't go to movie rental stores because we had some issues with a particular place before and my mom just doesn't want to deal with people that actually lie to you for money. Anyways, if any of you haven't used it, I recommend it. You really have to get there early because more than twice I couldn't get the movie I wanted :)

In Hollywood video I once saw a man that had to pay 80 dollars in rental fees, it was crazy and the man was not very happy about it, I am not sure how many weeks they got to keep the videos. but he was allowed to pay little by little.
Some places are plain nuts.

Yeah, that is why I said no to those places! One time they wanted to charge me a movie because they said I didn't return it. I searched all around my house and I did not have it, and I knew I had returned it. They wanted to turn crazy seriously. I made them look throughout the store because I wasn't going to purchase something I did not loose or stole. Redbox is so much better :)

Red Box is great. I used to be blockbuster customer, not anymore since they raise the rental rate. I save a lot of money. It's only $1/day, so if i only late a day, only cost me another $1.00
And their selection is great. You also can return it to any redbox machine, it doesn't have to be the same machine as you rent it.

I love Red Box. The closest one is at the Save-a-lot about 4 blocks from here. They also have them at a lot of McDonald's around here. I rent from them about once a week sometimes a little bit more. I usually get one for myself and one for the kids. I like to rent them online, so I just have to go swipe my card and get the movie instead of standing there trying to decide what to get. That is a lot easier with the kids and them deciding as well.

I have a few times, but I don't really like to because they are always pretty old movies and most of the time I've seen every movie I want to that they offer. I don't rent too often, but my parents always do, so I always get them to rent what I want to see. They always rent from Blockbuster because it is just on the corner.

The Redbox that I go to has pretty much new movies, I see an old movie once in a while.
But I am glad you have something that works for you, Blockbuster can be very neat, has a great big selection and tv shows. I just do miss it that much because the walks are too long for me.

I use this when I dont have any netflix movies in. I dont use it often though. Its cheap. Also they sent out coupon codes through text messages every month where you can get one free rental for one night. They also give you the option to reserve a movie online before it even comes out.

Redbox..........
Hi there ShellyB..... I used redbox for a while but there were a few complications with it. So after a week or two of using it I just decided that it would be best to just leave it alone, as it wasn't worth the trouble that i had to go through in order to rent a movie. Anyhow good luck to you with it, happy mylot.........

Redbox is awesome for a night of movies, but you have to remember that it costs $1/day. After 25 days it says that you bought the dvd and charges your account $25. I've had that happen to me a couple of times when I've gone on trips and fogotten to get the dvds in before I've gone. This is the only downfall I've found.
