Slow day?

So I'm over on the "today's top" tab and I see one with 3 responses, one with 5 responses. wth I thought "top" meant that the discussions were getting a lot of activity. So either it's a really slow day on the lot or perhaps I was wrong about the criteria. What do you consider a top discussion? For me, it's one that's either thought provoking or interesting or really funny... And hot? Maybe only the 'mature content' ones should go in the 'hot' category. Just kidding, but that's the way my mind works sometimes!

Who can figure out what they want. my biggest discussion i ever had w/over 80+ responses was there & made top discussion & then was deleted so go figure.

I have never been really sure of those categories, and so I just stick to discussions my friends started. I know some people want to be on the top discussion list. I usually think of the controversial discussions like religion and politics as being hot, along with mature content. I also know people who really like the digest. I guess I am just boring.

Hi dawnald,
I think "today's top2 should be the ones that are witty, funny and has a lot of response and also one for the most interesting topic, not for ones with just 3 of 5 responses, or am I getting it wrong?

Hi dawn,
I was too on the top discussion yesterday when I had hardly 5 response till then. What I feel is any discussion is a top discussion and which over comes with more ant the final reckoning goes to get included in the gadget as the top discussion. I know what was shown as top of mine wont go as it is not with many responses.
This is my guess or understanding , the rest is known by the admin.

Yes I think the same with you. Top discussion means that the many participants involved. I do not know if there are 3 responses to a top discussion. Whether on that day there is no discussion in the more responses? If there is, why not selected?

A top discussion, i think , should be interesting , fresh, offer opinions which others cann't imagine . The top discussion is just like a naughty boy which surprises everyone sometimes.

I thought that the definition of 'hot' discussions was a discussion that many people (or My Lotters if so) have been looking at - and most of the times responded. Maybe there have been A LOT of people looking on those discussions - without responding. Just a guess. Might be a slow day as well.

This has always kind of confused me. Slow day? That's quite strange because I have found a lot of activities going on around the end of the month! May be people are sleeping in some part of the world!

I think somehow interesting topics and mature contents sure receive more response from other mylot members. Perhaps the mature contents attract kinky people to give respond.I usually respond in discussions where I am able to voice out my opinion only. Some discussions are out from my opinions and hence I am not able to give a single word or two.

I'm sure you're right. It's just funny that discussions with very few responses ended up on 'today's top'
