Do you know anything about NLP? Is it a good things to do or to join or to have NLP certificates? For those who did not know what is NLP, is Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

NLP is a technique of programming your brain to receive stimuli and reacting to it accordingly. I have a certificate in it and have used it to capture moments of joy. You have to do some action so that your brain captures that moment. Later when you re-enact that particular action, you will remember the state of mind you were in, last time. It is very helpful in curing neuro-psychosis etc.

There are some useful techniques in NLP, though usually the 'gurus' will claim that it's capable of ridiculously fast change when it isn't, everything takes time. Some techniques work wonders, others are not so great.
However, NLP was turned into a pyramid scheme by it's initial founders who originality handed out certificates. Anyone they gave a master practitioner's certificate to was allowed to train others and certify them in NLP. This was done independently and as it is, the certificates are not worth the paper they are printed on.
Basically, they mean nothing except that you've learnt NLP which you could have done yourself anyway. I learnt for free and could start my own practitioners or training school and seeing as NLP is just communication and natural functions that we all perform subconsciously out of our awareness anyway, there can be no government accredited qualification to perform it. We do it every day without realizing, sometimes badly , sometimes we do it well.
