GB games? Do you mean GameBoy games? If so, then yes since in order to run those games on your computer, your emulator emulates every hardware component of the original gaming device in software. This includes emulating the CPU of the device which in software, running one architecture on top of another, can consume a lot of the host system's resources. To give a more realistic and realtime experience, the emulator may even run at a higher priority than other processes on the computer which will overall slow down the host...

I was thinking of that as well, Emulated games. There are some older emulators that work better than most of the recently released ones. Mainly because they don't use DirectX which has become a "fad" for emulator program writers of late.

Yes. The degree to which depends mainly on your RAM, and to a lesser extent, hard drive capacity. The effect on RAM is only temporary, but of course HD space is permanently taken up until you uninstall, and even then some residual files remain. For what it costs to expand either now (compared to 5 years ago) I have gone really over the top, and have a desktop, that in those terms, will last me 5-10 years into the future. By them I might want a new motherboard though.

i think games are not slow the computer speed . i think we have less amount of RAM means our system speed is reduced . So we have large anount of RAM means our system speed is great . Not games will reduced the computer speed .

what emulator are you using? the specs of your computer? the title of the game? if its processor is below 1.0G then say 800mhz then it's really slow buy a new one if you can afford it. try using visualboyadvance. http://vba.ngemu.com/ get the latest version.

Yes games do slow down the operating system. When we run the games, lot of temporary memory is collected in the form of junk files and also they do effect the registry of the windows. So if running games, applications like registry cleaner, ccleaner and defragmenter should be used to keep the computer performance maintained.

Yes, any program you run on your computer will slow it down. As the above poster commented, you will need to check the specifications of the software to ensure that it can be run on your computer. Additionally, check for any patches released for the game or software.

No actually its not like that.If your computer is not compatible with any games.Like if it has low ram memory, processor then.It will slow down your pc.Because your pc cant support that game.May it can get hugh up.If you have good configured pc.Then this kind of problem will not happens. Its all depends upon pc configuration. Thats why you will see every game has minimum system requirement.Check it before installing.
