Generation X or Generation XXX?

I'm noticing more and more that the children these days are less cared for. I live on a busy street where no one stops at the stop signs, even the local cop (ooouh he makes me so mad). My problem with this is -- I see kids, no older than 6 or 7, riding around on bikes in the street -- no supervision, no helmets, no awareness that people are recklessly driving. This makes me angry, and although I am only 23 I will never let my future children go unsupervised or at least unprotected. How do you feel about this?
