If it's a CD game maybe your CD is damaged, if your CD is new....maybe its your CD-ROM reader which is damaged. Maybe you need Directx installed to play the game? Like frozenimage said...the question is too vague.

perhaps, the games are not compatible with your operating system or perhaps, your system is not capable of executing the games: 1. the resolution of your monitor and the game is not compatible. you may need video card for more finer resolution (only if required by the game) 2. the game file may be corrupted. try download another copy from another source. 3.try to tell me the games. also include the specifications of your computer and system. these way, we can debug why such thing happened. thank you

You can't expect people to answer this question because it is too vague. It would help us better to understand the question if you detailed your computer's specs and what games you are trying to play.

Do you mean not playable? This is probably because your computer is too old and the game you want to play is very new, such as GTA4 which requires an high end processor, good graphics card, and a lot of RAM. You did not explain what game and what your computer is, so if you could post up more details most of us could help you a little more.
