Yup there are things that i realized when ever i respond to no response and new discussions, well not all of them, it's really because few weeks a go i started responding randomly to new and no response topics and these were my analysis and results to myself.
* I feel somewhat Stupid or No brainer because it's either the question was too vague or not mere in my cycle of my interest, unfortunately 80% of those no response i said indirectly " I have no Idea what you're talking about"
* It helps them get a point in their discussions and allows me to learn new things about their lives, interest, people, technology, movies and other interest that wasn't into to it.Seems New to me.
* I don't know why they made such discussions, is it for them just to wait for response, or simply wait for an answer, or for money to dig in..what where they thinking? what were I thinking then"
What were you thinking when your discussions has Zero response?
I hope my topics doesn't make you stupid or anything.
*silly discussions makes me an idiot too

Luckily, so far, all my discussions are well responded. As I can remember, during my active days here, after responding to my friend's discussions, I go to the no responses posts. I do respond to some of them but if ever I don't see their point or the discussion is non-sense, I just leave and don't respond to it. As I also observed, some of the no responses topics the author has less friends. It really is very helpful for a member here to have friends because they are the first one's to see your discussions because of the notification. HUGZ!

Hello there. that's why am adding friends who have more than one thousand or 500 post because like you, are the ones who make worthy discussions. but sometimes i fear too that some can also be trolls pretending to a mylotter. HUGZ too

If I get a zero response for some discussion (I have only 3) I would probably take a relook at the question. It obviously is not very clear or is not interesting for the mass.

I have one, because i really doubt a few can be interest in responding to that discussion. you can relook but you can't simply change it. some of the masses prefer discussions with fun or popularity.depends, that's why a few are spending on the 0 and no response..

Sometimes I do venture to the no response column only to find disappointment on the posters lack of creativity in their writings. Not that I am good but they don't seems to put valuable contents to their posts. Issues that doesn't strike will not captivate the readers mind to want to response. At least they give some space for others to find ways how to correspond with their discussions. They write nonsensical issues which might only interest themselves and have no feel for the readers who are their main target. Getting no response should put no blame on others but themselves. Not posting discussions that interest the majority will be a disaster for the discussion.

most of the time i agree to that, simply because they don't think that much and some prefer not to exaggerate the discussion.some issues aare only relative to their country. well, i had my own case on that, but most of my topics are available to every one.

I haven't yet ventured into the no responses tab, but I have posted a conversation in the correct category that has never had any responses. It kind of hurts my feelings because I know that my question was clear for the topic at hand.
I guess with that said, in a certain sense I wish there was a more diverse group of people on mylot. I like the conversations that I get involved it but there are some times that I want to talk about something that directly involves one of my interests and it doesn't seem like there is anyone here that is involved in the same thing.

for the moment i also have one discussion that is so empty responses. well, i believe there are more people now than the discussions made. and most are choosy with the discussions they are checking on the Que.some are also from my interest but not the topic am interested in.

And you should do the same, and also probably put pictures in that avatar. you should make your own discussions for you to find out. have a nice day..

I go look at the ones with no responses and if it's a good topic I reply. It's fun to be first and to help somebody out also. I stay away from certain topics and questions that have been asked over and over and over again.

I used to think of that as well. but after a while i became a bit choosy in the topics that a look in those categories. I wasn't always into those topics that are short or simply asking question with no other content..

OH, come on stop complaining and if you feel stupid in some discussion then don't reply to them at all. you should worry when you see the New and zero response empty, now that is something that you really need to concern. you shouldn't criticize them simply because they are not as good. that my friend can also cost your reputation..So again be careful too.

I found your discussion in the new and no responses tab aswell. =) I'm same as you, I reply to new discussions and sometimes no responses discussion and also hot, cause I feel like there aren't many discussions on mylot, so I stick to the ones that just come out. I agree 80 percent of the new discussions make no sense at all or just do not interest me at all. I've only had one discussion ever with 0 responses around when I first started mylot. I felt a bit upset, but I was okay. :)

Oh, thank you. I am looking new discussion right now in the new and zero ones. 80% is i have no idea why they want to put it up. i too did have 0 responses. i think zero responses where often last year because it was counted as post even though it's zero.well, it's different now.

That's funny!
I go to those areas too and there are some that I see in there that are honestly really good topics, but the time frame they are posted might not be a high traffic point here for people to see them. Beings how page refreshes move pretty quickly here, it's easy to see a good discussion move to page 10 in a heartbeat.
There are a few others out there that I don't get, but I'll respond and ask further questions for clarification. I think it might be a language gap sometimes. I don't look at a discussion as stupid but maybe needing a bit more details or more of the idea of what the person is talking about.
Of course there are others still that you know are just striving for a penny or two. Some of them I'll read, but not respond too because there isn't even any question that can be asked to make sense of it.

It is nice to know that i am not the only one who does this...(rowses through the no response section) I knowi hate it when a discussion i start gets buried quickly and no one ever finds it. I have had a couple that i have put up that i feel i could have gotten some decent feedback on (and was HOPING for decent feedback on) if only people had been able to see them and respond. And as i don't want to be one of those people who re-post the same question in a different form, i guess i'll just have to wait a while and try again, maybe in a different subject or something (or would that sill be considered rude and against the guidelines? i am still fairly new about this and try to keep myself legit...)

Well as I suggested to another poster in kind of a similar topic, I don't think there is anything wrong with friends helping each other out in this department either. Saying you have a few zero response discussions. I have helped people out by responding to them to start them moving.
I don't see anything wrong with helping a person out on here.

What really gets to me are single line discussion topics. like "do you like cheese?" (just an arbitrary one i pulled outta thin air)if you want to start a discussion, give some details, talk about what cheeses you like or dislike, something you like to cook that involves cheese...make it interesting for goodness sakes!

Yeah, or at least put a short story besides it. rather than putting up a small question and let us do the rest. most of them don't even bother replying to the said response. i do check it most of the time, it does proves it.guess they're busy responding to others.

some discussions can be just simple as hard than any one can answer. that's so hard to response. then, don't comment on topics that makes you dumb.
