What do you do if someone mistakes your post and gives you negative rating?

I'm sorry you've gotten a negative rating. Hope you won't experience this again. But I'm curious to know why you are so sure it is because of this lady's action. As you know, we make all kinds of postings all over the place in different discussions. Anyone can rate you on any of your posts, and you cannot see what has been rated of your posts. So how is it that you are so sure this lady has rated you negatively, and that rating and not others have contributed to a decrease in your rating? For me, I usually don't rate anyone negatively. If I do not have any positive rating to give someone, then I don't rate it. I think many people here adopt this practice, because they also don't like others to rate them negatively.

Hi, I never took notice of this, now I will start checking. But my rating has been the same for some time now so I don't know what that means. maybe that no one rated me positively or negatively for all this time?! From mylot FAQs I saw that Rating quality content negatively will hurt your ratings overall. Remember differing opinions and viewpoints tend to make for the most interesting discussions. So I think it will affect the person's rating as well. In fact I have only used the negative rating when some was spamming discussions, in that case I also reported him as this was all the user was doing in many discussion and not in just one case.

Actually I don't pay attention to my rating. I think it is a little mean to rate others' posts negative. I always rate others' posts positive. If the posts are annoying, I will just leave it alone but I won't rate it negative anyway. If others ever give me negative rating, I will take it easy. After all, I won't care about it. My rating will increase again by other nice Mylotters. I love China

If you can't rate positive, better don't but never rate negative. This has been my principle. This is a very sorry state of affairs. I feel very sorry for you. I think unknowingly that person must have done it. So forgive, forget and move on.

Hello friend, oh,,,that's two bad 2 points is really sad friend. Yeah,why there are some mylotters had to do that? I had an argument with one of our mylotters here,but i never think of rating him negative and it never did came up to my mind either.Not even in my discussions i ever rated someone negative thu sometimes i feel offended. Hope this won't make you stop mylotting dear

Hmm ... I think being diplomatic is the best way to go here. Dont hurt anyone's feelings neither start a controversial discussion. I am very sorry to hear about your experience but I think you might want to tone down a little bit in general? Also, I tend to avoid responding to discussions which are too personal and your opinion might be too candid..lol Forget about it, friend, just keep posting and having fun here :)

Maybe lapsus has just taken that. And you have no reason to be angry even she is in advisedly. Because to be angry is a castigation from youself.

How did you came to know that she marked a negative response on your post?In fact,I started a post on this about how we can know what responses we get but it is said that it remains a secret.Did she explicitly told you in the response as she has marked neagtive on you?If so,I feel sorry for you.

Sorry to hear that.. How can it happened? May I know which of your discussion you're talking about? I'll look it in your profile page. If that happened to me, I must admit that I can do nothing.. but if I feel really annoyed, I will ask that lady and hope she won't do it again if she doesn't understand the meaning of your discussion.. Because we're allowed to rate someone freely here, I think your case had happened several times to many members here.. I personally never check my rating,, Hope this will never happen again to you and maybe you can use words that not cause people misunderstand your meaning..

Oh, that's terrible, but even though there was such a important content in your discussion, try to make sure it wouldn't hurt some one in this site. that's the privileged of every mylot user when ever they feel uncomfortable with the subject that they just read in discussion.i have read some how that discussion that i think you were referring to. just an advice don't just accused some one of rating you negatively because it can also be some one else. I know that person, she won't be saying that if she didn't see it herself. You should at least took her comment as a positive remark since she was here longer. that's why i never argued those who corrects me now. too dangerous, i don't want to cause a fight that i might regret..we are subject to good or bad criticisms. this is a discussion after all.. i hope you could move on to other things. i had worst,they rated you down..me? they rated me down? and have my old account deleted...yeah, this is my new account. Yes I have been through that. A person rated me neagitvely without understanding that I posted my views on a purely esoteric way. S/he gave very strong views. I was kind of taken aback. :(

i am sorry to hear your bad experience. honest to say i am also new one here , we need learn more . we need learn from each other .so keep chain up . donot see that things just do yourself
