I like use candles, some lemongrass oil and burn this, a few drops in some water, and it will eliminate the odours, of course i keep windows open as much as i can , because i live in mountains area, and in the evening is a fresh air, strong, are many forests around who smell so clean and fresh..
I put fabric softner in a spray bottle with a bit of water, then spray the fabrics, carpet, furniture, curtains. This make makes the house smell great!!This is my way to make my own "Fabreeze".
What do you like to make your house smell fresh and clean all the time?

I don't like to burn candles and I don't like sprays in my house. One thing that you already mentioned it's opening the windows, I don't live in the city so it's great to feel the fresh air coming in and it does the trick. And I also love the clean smell so when I clean it always smells nice :D

I open the windows first and have dusting and then spray room freshener and then clean the floor using floor cleaner which has some fragrance and this way I keep my house clean. I also use fragrance stick so that the surrounding be cool and smell good and positive energy stay in our house. Using candles is really a great option but I use it when I feel its a day special to me otherwise just room freshener and floor cleaner help me keep my house clean and fresh.

I hate those stale air trapped inside my house, the best is to have a good ventilation at home.
In the morning, open up the windows for fresh air to come in and it will have an air circulation.Of course, due to dusts, we might not want to open up the window for long. Around 1 hour for ventilation is quite enough.
Apart from that, spray some perfumes (designed for spray room) to have a fresh air.
Nowadays, perfumes for home is easily available in the supermarket. I like to get Lemon Taste, it makes my bedroom smell nice & fresh throughout the day.
Sometimes I will also spray fabric refresher to my curtain, bedsheets, sofa. I will always wash my curtain once every 2months and for bedsheet I change it once a week.
Stay clean will make us live happily.

well... A lot of peaple are allergic to air-fresheners, scented candles and other so the best solution is to pratice proper hygiene. Remember your house is not a open air surounding, whatever oder get inside will stay there for a long while especially if you are away for a long time. Get rid of strong body oder, clean house regular, avoid storing durty laundries, keep restroom sanitized and avoid having food and grease in kitchen pins for a long time. When at home open windows and doors for fresh air to come in.

I light the candles sometimes when I take away the trash or after I cook something that has a very strong smell and it makes the whole house smell. I think the candle does a pretty good job about making the smell goes away. And when it is the summer, it is better to open the windows to make the air circulated.

Wow, sounds neat. I am using Glade or sometimes Ambi Pur lavender scent. Sometimes I do like the scent of green tea of glade. I also open the window and door to keep our place well ventilated.
But sometimes, i do keep it close since mosquitoes do come as well as flies. I don't like insects around the house, so i just keep a small portion of window open. I do use fabric softener and if smells ohh so good in our clothes, specially when I hang them, and there's a breeze, I can smell it so much.
I do have scented candles and incense to. I do like to use it specially the ones that gives a very strong smell. Happy Mylotting.

I usually use an airwick or glade plugin. But, because my duplex is a bit old and God only knows what hidden electrical problems are here, I unplug them whenever I leave for work, so when I get back home, it's stuffy all over again.
However, I've never tried oils before. I'm going to try both of your methods and see how it works. Thanks for the tip! The fabric softner in a spray bottle sounds like a great idea.

I usually just open the window and let the air circulate in the house. I use candles when i cook fish aside from putting on the exhaust fan because, I'm really afraid that the smell might stick on the wall and all over the house. Candles help me when i slice up some onions coz it can avoid the crying issue.

I also like using scented candles or lavender oil being burnt on an oil burner. I open up the windows so that air will come in and to have more ventilation in the house. I also have use some air freshener sprays to make the rooms and linens smell clean and fresh.

We burn Yankee Candles! The Yankee Candle Company makes really great, long-lasting, strong-scented candles in a wide variety of fragrances. You can get the scent of fresh-cut roses, lilacs, or lillies. You can go for fresh baked cookies, apple pie, or banana bread. You can get tropical scents, rain, storm, sun and sand, etc., or you can get forest scents, like juniper and cedar.
Fruity candles, flowery candles, you name it! And they all smell so good and last a long time, as long as you're not burning them more than an hour or so each day.
We have two dogs, so sometimes it is necessary to light candles just to cover up that dog smell. They aren't particularly smelly dogs, and they do get baths, but you know what I mean!

Cooking garlic on the stove can make your home smell fantastic and I love cooking with garlic! I love when my husband comes home and says it smells great all thanks to some sauteed garlic, and sometimes onion. Vanilla extract, just a few drops, on a cotton ball can be placed in a room to help make it smell great. Also you can use "used" dryer sheets (great way to recycle!) can be placed in shoes, closets, and drawers to keep them smelling great. =)

Usually if the house is cleaned everyday there wont be any odour in it. I do not use anything but keep the windows and doors open during the day and keep the house very clean. This removes any form of bad odour.
