Have you ever taken a whole bed outside and slept under the stars?

I've wanted to do that. I can get used mattresses for free. I want to get them and pile them outside maybe 3 high and make a bed and be able to sleep outside on nice clear nights. I think that would be wonderful, especially with a special someone, that would be so romantic. It's more comfortable than camping, but you still get the luxury of being under the stars and you will probably wake up at sunrise lol. Then imagine, you can go inside, make breakfast and go eat breakfast in bed and watch the sunrise. That would sooo very fun.

Seems to be a fun idea. Have never tried it. Have not met that special someone till now- so would have to sleep alone. Would give it a try in future- but, I fear the insects and rodents outside my house!

Yes I have done twice in my life and I can say that I quite like it. The first time I did it was when I was in high school, my aunt snores so loud like a train every night and I get fed up with her so I decided to slept outside which was at the backyard of the house. The second time was about two years ago, when I was living near a lake. My neighbor's kids always talk and play with me until one night we decided to make a bonfire and grab the airbed mattresses... we slept under the stars. I missed those kids and that experience. Its so peaceful and so much fun

Awww that sounds like a very fun thing. I used to have an air mattress, I should have tried to sleep out in the backyard more often, now I live in an apartment and I don't even have the choice of doing that.

If you do decide to do this, make sure you have someplace safe to store your outdoor bed when you aren't using it, as you don't want it collecting dew, getting rained on, or becoming the home for any little outdoor critters!
I have never put a whole bed out doors, but i do have a deck on the third floor of my home and i have a hammock that i can hang outside on it. In the heat of the summer in the past i have grabbed a couple pillows and a blanket (as even in the summer, the early mornings can be chilly) and slept out under the stars. I have always found it very relaxing, though i always wind up waking up far earlier than i would want to, as the sunlight hits me and the birds and what not start their mornings earlier than i do!

Oh yeah, that's important, I definitely don't want to sleep with critters. lol I wish I could do it now, but I live in an apartment complex, so it isn't really an option unless I want people to think I am homeless. Sounds so relaxing. Yea a hammock would be good too, because it is up off of the ground, and less chance for mildew.

When I was a child I used to imagine that my bed could fly outside with me warm and snug and tucked up inside it. I used to think it was the safest place in the world to be. Now that I'm all grown up, I still think it would be fabulous to sleep outside in my bed with my partner under the stars and see the sunrise - however, being in an urban area wouldn't be very practical since the neighbours would start talking and peering over the fence. I'd love to have a bed in the countryside or at the beach overlooking the ocean - now that would be heaven...

Aww that is cute, like Nemo! Yeah, a bed on the beach! That would be so amazing, just have to make sure you keep it up the beach away from the higher tide lol. I wouldn't care if the neighbors looked over the wall. There's a wall there for a reason and they shouldn't be nosy! lol

I actually did this when I was younger. I would sleep on the back deck under the stars and I really enjoyed it until one day I woke up with a deer looking at me. I decided I didn't want to do that anymore after that. If you are able to and live somewhere that doesn't have many wild animals around I would say do it. If you live in an apartment building with a roof you have access to I would say sleep up there too.

That sounds very interesting, waking up to deer. I wake up and my dog's nose is in my face waiting for me to wake up. lol So a deer would be a nice change.

Oh yeah ... I love sleeping under the stars !!
All my friends would go for trekking in the "Sahyadri" (western Ghats of India) and there we would usually sleep under the stars.
I have also done that at my place when its very hot and we have no electricity ( Courtesy Maharashtra State Electricity Board ) we would sleep on the terrace, gazing at the night sky.
When I was little, my cousins would come to my place for the summer vacations and we all would sleep outside, and then we would discuss lot of funny topics and then our parents would yell at us for staying up late ..lol ...

As a child I used to sleep with my family (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, uncles, aunts) on the terrace of our house. It was fun to watch the stars while dozing off to sleep.

really depends on which country you live in. In the UK it's too cold to sleep outside, but here in Thailand it's usually warm enough and many people in the villages will sleep outside, on a hammock or a bamboo bed. An actual mattress isn't such a great idea as is liable to become home to a family of bugs!
