I have a kid in my family, who are fat, he really like to eat a lot, he don t have problems with a food in special he eat everything.
His parents are not fat, but he is a little fat for his age. Can be dangerous?
Do you think that when he will go to school, he will lose some weight, or when he will be adult will be fat too?
When you was kid you was normal, skinny or fat? And now you was as you was when was kid?
This kid parents must to0 let him to be more taller and after to make something to lose weight or now is a good moment to make something?
He run, play, don t have any medical problems, but really like to eat, and have few extra weight;
Any advice?

A kid having baby fat is nothing to fear. I am very happy to hear about a kid who does not fuss when it comes to eating. As the kid grows up you can slowly stop giving him food rich in fats and further more he will himself start eating normally when he sees the other kids.
My sister's son was very fat when he was a kid and very much fond of eating. Although his craving for food has not stopped even at 15 he has lost a lot of weight and looks normal for his age. His mother used to send him for swimming and other sports right from the young age and that could be the effect. The boy knows to eat the right type of food now that his mother need not bother.
So long as the child is active you need not worry about his fat body which will be lost as he grows.

i agree if a child is active staying fat wont be possible. but with computers and electronic games getting more and more addictive. those who do not lose that fat after that active stage will continue to add weight.

When I was a kid I was normal not real fat and not skinny. Now that I have growup I am still normal not fat but still not skinny. I am not very tall either if I was a little taller I would than be on the skinner side of normal. Height has a lot to do with how people carry their weight.

i remember reading about a study done on fat children. it says that when children put on weight, the number of fat cells increase. however, the number of fat cells will not reduce when the children grow up and lose weight. only the size of the fat cells shrink and so the child will find it difficult to lose weight as an adult compared to people with less number of fat cells.
when i was a child, i was very skinny. i am still within my ideal weight range now and find it not too hard to lose weight. this might have something to do with the smaller number of fat cells i have.

If the kid's weight does not correspond to his age and height, in short if he/she is overweight then that can be a little problem. To say, there are dangers for being over and under weight. I have friends who have children who are fat and has consulted pediatricians and all of them told me that the doctors suggested to regulate the weight of a child to normal as this is essential to their physical growth. Some would have them change their vitamins- as this really enhances appetite, some even advises those mothers on how to diet their kids. There are big chances that the kid in your family will lose some weight if he goes to school, as this will involved physical activities and exercise. You can have him play with other kids, sort of a work out. Yes, some kids are fat when young, then grew thin during their adolescent years, or can be vice versa.
When I was a kid, my mom always told me that I am thin and have a big stomach. It's like they are referring to ring worms inside me that's why even if I eat a lot, they consumed most of the nutrients so I didn't get fat. I have taken several vitamins as advised by the pediatrician but still I am thin. When I reach grade school, that is when I started to gain weight. I was overweight when I was in high school, then I took a diet got thin during 2 years in college and then get fat again. Arghhh my body wasn't stable then. I am on a chase of losing some pounds today.

I don't think fat kids will be fat when they grow up. I am the example. I was very fat when I was a kid with chubby cheeks. I didn't know about the importance to reduce my weight till I was in seventh grade (12 years age). At that age I tried to reduce my weight and I was able to cut down my weight and now I am in a good shape after that.
I think all of it depends on the type of body. My body is of the kind - easily put on weight and easily reduce it if I control food for three to four days.

I disagree with that.
It really depends on how we eat and how we do exercise.
When I was a kid, I was chubby.
My aunt used to tell me that noone was gonna marry me because I am fat.
In fact I changed when I grow up.
I still eat the same, but I guess I become more feminine so my body start to get back in shape.
Since that, I believe that anything can change.

One thing is it really depends on the age and if he is healthy. Kids go thru growth spurts and can be a little overweight and then grow a few inches and thin right out. Another thing is genetics and metabolism. He could even appear healthy and have an underactive gland. There is so many different things that can play into weight. Also what is he eating and snacking on, how active he is. The list can go on and on.
The biggest thing for me is it would depend on the age of the child and what he does during a day.

Well first of all there's nothing wrong with eating alot, the way I see it he seems healthy as you mentioned he haven't got any medical problems at all. There's nothig wrong with being fat,I say mind them it's his body anyways not theirs.
To be honest I was a fat kid too during my elementary days and up my first year in highscholl. That's why when I decided to have a diet and started getting concerned about my body fitness, all my friends were shocked about the outcome and now I have six pack abs.I have efforted so much to achieve this,I never even thought I could make it but look at me now.Grown up up with a full fut body.I'm so prod of this.
Maybe time will come that he'll realize if he'll do something about his fat body, but if not then let it be it's his body anyways and it's his life,as long as he doesn't have any medical conditions then everything's going to be fine.

i think if he's active he'll probably lose it - it's fine for him to like food but maybe making sure what he eats is mostly healthy (doesn't all have to be) might be a good idea. i was a bit chubby as a child although i was active but the weight disappeared once i hit my teens, and hasn't come back although i never diet. just one other thing - its probably not an issue here but it isn't a good idea to make a child feel self conscious about food (either amount or kind) or their weight - it can lead to food issues later on, including ironically obesity.

There is nothing to worry about it, he will slowly start slimming towards his adolescence age, as he starts attending school a drastic change in weight can also be found. If he loves to play some sport especially like basket ball or tennis as he grows it is going to help him reduce his weight to some extent, he should also control his food intake to some extent.

I wouldn't know about it really. I don't have scientific proof to support my answer, just based on my personal pov. I was not fat as child and up to now I still am not. I guess it is somehow based on genes and of course the eating habits of a person.

i was quite chubby at a very young age. i was born fat hi hi! but now i have a normal weight. it is ok to be fat at a young age, if he isnt too overweight. tell him to get into active outdoor sports...n see how he ets back to shape. children have a good metabolic rate, bt seems like this kid has diffrent rate.
i would suggest to let him eat an at the same time play too.

erm i was overweight when i was in my childhood and up till now i still am. but some people told me nothing is wrong with being fat. it just tells everyone that you are happy with your life. but i have to agree that when you are fat during childhood the chances of you remaining fat is quite high unless something drastic happens

Hi Marianna, I was a very plump baby - my mum used to tell me that she had problems delivering me. I was also a fat toddler; after that I was skinny till my last year in high school, when I got really plump, with a face so round that they called me moon-face. Since that, I was skinny once more and could never get fat. Even if I gain some weight, it is easily lost when I am stressed (work) or get sick.
So I don't think you should worry too much about your kid. Just make sure that he eats healthy food and exercises a lot!

I don't think fat kids will remain fat when they grow old.... Its true, that growing old means you will be having more stress, pressure and responsibilities. And when you are having so many things in your head so certainly you will become more thinner.. Such is the case with me. I was a fat person as a kid. But now I am having a average build.I am not at all too skinny. And I think, its all because I have to work hard to get the things that I desire. In childhood these this comfort is generally provided to us by our parents.
A person will gain weight if he only sits in a office and work.Same is the case with my brother. He was a very skinny and flexible child. But now he had gained much weight, which he cannot lose

Well one cannot say if things are fine with the kid with the description given here. Even if the parents are lean a kid can be fat as he/she can inherit genes of thier grandparents.
I was a normal or rather a little plump kid when io was yound, i had the ideal weight till pregnancy and then my weight suddendly jumped 10 kilos more than required. My parent are normal weighing but my father's side relatives put on weight very quickly and so i'm generally careful about it.
I think this kid should be into regular exercises and activities that can help him burn calories and he can still have his favorite food stuffs!

I was normal during my childhood days...I have put on weight after marriage...I feel whether fat or skinny I think you should have healthy food...instead of eating one big meal..eat at regular intervals enables you to eat less during meals..so try that...the kid will not eat up lots of food at a time...also instead if eating lot of carbohydrates..add a fruit in your diet...that is very good for the health...

A fat kid in all probability will grow up to be an obese adult. Kids must learn to exercise and expend their energy in a health way and not sit around watching TV all day long. I was never very fat or thin as a child. We were not allowed to watch TV and were supposed to play with children of our age. Parents must encourage the kid to go out and play with other kids. Its a healthy sign. If the kid is left like this he may also develop some disease.
