ive heard some people who didn't experience handwashing clothes in their lives.at first it seemed impossible. but i had learned that fact from one of the mothers. she dont allow kids to do those chores.they just leave it to others.in my case, i have been doing that for years and for another years of my life too. it's a fulfilling job for me especially when it's my own clothes that im cleaning.i feel so satisfied. have you tried handwashing your clothes?how often?

hello flagella! well me , i am washing my clothes manually! hehehe...yes i do hand wash our clothes, its tiring but satisfying... i learned hand washing my clothes when i am just in my elementary school about 11 years old i think...but that time i am just washing my under wears...and little by little i wash some of my clothes (only light materials...) my mom taught me to do this thing...but when i am on my highschool i don't do it much anymore, coz the doctor told my mom that its not good for me to do such things that time...and so i stopped. but still i am doing my own undies... now that i am already married...i handwash our clothes always...coz i don't have a machine yet! hehehe...i do it twice a week, one with whites and the next with the colored clothes...but when i feel tired and lazy doing this tiring job...i just pay someone to do it for me!

well that was so diligent of you.washing clothes manually is the best thing to do. i prefer to wash my clothes manually. even after using the machine i get another load since i repeat and brush again the pants after soaking them in the machine.it's really that tiresome. so now i set aside the machine and handwash the clothes and pants.

I also wash our clothes manually to conserve electricity and you are satisfied of the cleanliness of the clothes unlike it when you use washing machine. I learned to wash our clothes when I was in Elementary so up to now we know how to wash our own clothes. We do our laundry 3 times a week I'm in charge during weekdays and my sisters turn in Sunday. We never rely to our mother but sometimes she helps me. Here washing clothes manually is veru common because not everybody have washing machine. When our washing machine is not working anymore my Mother don't buy a new one instead she only buy dryer because it is much needed during rainy days. I also to prefer to wash my own undergarments everyday. When my mother told me that she going to pays someone to wash our clothes I refused because it is not practical and it is uncomfortable to wash it to others. It is so tiring and exhausting but I'm satisfy about the cleanliness of our clothes actually I washed our clothes this morning together with my mother. The weather is not cooperating with us because it is unpredictable I thought the sun going to stay but suddenly it is raining.

I do washing of my delicate clothes, especially if has stain. It is really hard to remove by simply relying on the washing machines. Even if i have a laundry maid to wash it..i see to it that my private garments..like underwear and bras is wash by me. I do not like to depend for others person to wash it. they are parts of my privacy and I should be the only one to wash it. Their are rich people who never or have no knowledge of washing their clothes as they depend most of the cleaning in their servants...I wash my clothes once a week..then my private garments everyday after taking a bath..this is my practice.as I do not like to left dump clothes, it may get fungi...

well that's true.it would be a shame letting undies washed by other people.i often scold my sisters for just leaving their undies at the counter how much more if they let them wash by others. i can't take the fact that anyone let others wash their panties especially that girls have their daily body fluids from the genitals. it's not proper and it's really a shame.

I always handwash certian items of clothing, it helps them retain their shape longer and they are less likely to get stains, esp my more expensive clothing. By handwashing they also require less ironing, which I hate to do, so it works out well for me.

Yes, currently I'm doing it everyday, as there is no washing machine at my place. I can afford to buy it, but I don't think its needed, and I consider it as a form of exercises. I don't mind handwash my clothes. When i was in university too, even though there are laundry, but I never used it, and I consider it waste of money when I can spare my time to do it by myself. Even at home, my mother or I will do the laundry in the morning but when at evening I have my own clothes, i prefer to handwash it. Maybe I have get used to do it since I was child, and now it become a habit.

hey this is the post that i like so much so far.i can relate because i used to live in a dorm way back in college and it's really true that there was no available machine for us. it's nice to note that you help your mom in washing clothes. there are children who will just request their mom to hire a house help just to wash and iron their clothes. it's just okay for small families and with no college student yet because there is still enough for the wage of the house help.in our case i belong to a big family and that all of us are required to wash our own clothes. now that im married i still do wash my clothes and not use the machine. with that i save electricity too.

I am 22 now and right from the age of 16, I used to hand wash my own clothes. 2 months ago, I have bought a new washing machine but I still hand wash my clothes as it is one form of a good exercise I can get. Apart from hard to Hand wash clothes like Jeans pant, Bedsheets and Woollen shawls, i used to hand wash these clothes even today and I believe that handwashing is always better than washing them in the washing machines as hand washed clothes look much clean and good.

Hi, i am proud to say that i do my washing with bare hands. All my life until this very time i still use hand washing with our clothes. I love doing and i am satisfied doing it. I just don't like using washing machine although we have one here because i am not satisfied with its washing. I feel like the clothes are not clean enough after washing on washing machine. So still i am still using hand wash. However my children when they were still her with me, they use the washing machine and of course they have tried hand washing. They can do both ways but for me it is hand washing that i prefer.

yes dear mother i also really prefer to have the hand washing. we can't be just be contented with the machine because most of the time there are still parts of the clothes that are left untouched inside the machine.it will be some kind of tiresome when we repeat it again when infact electricity is already wasted when doing that so. it's nice of you to teach your kids to use their hands to wash clothes too.

hi flagella!^^ i used to handwash my clothes when i was in college because i didn't want to spend money on paying somebody to do it for me. i had to be thrifty because i was living away from home and i don't have any income yet. right now, i'm already working. i still handwash my underwear but i pay someone to wash my clothes because i don't have the time to do it and i'm always tired on my free time. but sometimes i handwash one or two of my clothes along with my undies. my teenage nieces and nephew are so lazy on the other hand. they don't wash their own clothes and don't do any household chores in the house. but i guess that's the fault of their mother and their grandmother because they don't teach them on how to be useful in the house. and it just makes me so angry when i see them lying around doing nothing. .

I handwash my own clothes. As I wash the clothes daily, it does not make much sense to use the washing machine. I prefer to wash daily as I dread the weekend load. The only solution is to handwash. Yes, I handwash my clothes and daily too.

it's good that you handwash clothes daily.it's really a big burden washing loads and loads of clothes in weekeneds.all other chores will be paralyzed because you will only concentrate in washing the whole day. you can't do any chore anymore after washing because you will get tired after that. keep up the good work.

I have had to handwash my clothes several times over the years. Mostly if I get stuck while traveling and my luggage doesn't, then you have to rinse things out to feel fresh in the morning. I have used many a hotel dryer (hair and hand driers in bathrooms) to dry hand washed clothes! There are a few things I always hand wash because I don't trust them to the washing machine, but VERY few! I don't do it if I don't have to.

I live in a hostel. I don't own a washing machine, but I have a maid who does laundry for me daily. He does hand washing. There is no washing machine in the hostel. I pay her two dollars per month. I am lucky to get a good maid for that cheap rate. When there was no maid, I used to do hand wash onece in a week.

my underwear are all hand washed. they're cleaner that way. also, some shirts attract lint and most of the shirts i wear out of the house are handwashed. i also love tights and cycling shorts so i always have a bundle to wash during washing days. the rest of the laundry goes into the machine.

I used to do some washing manually since childhood, there is usually small amount of delicate fabrics, that just isn't enough to wash in machine. So till now I'm doing it regularly. Although, I know that my boyfriend is the one who never experienced that and isn't able to catch the point of this activity. Maybe he just doesn't wear so much delicate fabric =)

I don't handwash them often but I have done it before. I only do it if it is something I don't really want to wash with other clothes. And I've done it before if I needed a shirt or something washed so I didn't have to run a full load for one shirt. I don't do it very much though because I'd rather use the washing machine instead.

I handwash delicate things like bras and stockings because they get destroyed in the washer and dryer, but there is no need to wash anything else by habd unless it is made out of a material which has a label that says "hand wash only". Why would you wash a whole load of clothing by hand when we have modern conveniences? And why is this discussion under "make more money"? You really don't save money doing laundry by hand, and I believe that "time is money" so the time spent washng clothes by hand can take away from time you can spend making money and/or spending time with your loved ones.

Me, I have tried to wash my clothes using my hand. I ended up with break hands. There are many bruises after. It is because of over forced hand washing and the reaction of detergent bar on my hands. From there on I used washing machine, although in rinsing I still want it handwashing. Our washing machine have rinse but we are saving electricity so we do the rinsing by our hands.

I don't handwash my clothes if I have a choice. I have always used a washing machine for my clothes. When I buy clothes, I only buy those that doesn't require hand washing. All my clothes are dumped into the washing machine. I prefer the washing machine because I can do other things while waiting for the cycle to be done. Even if I have nothing else to do, I'll just laze around instead.

yes i often hand wash with dish soap if i cant afford any more detergent or softener for me its sometimes easier to hand wash since i can do it in the house where i can keep an eye on my daughter where as if i use the washing machine i have to keep going outside in the sun room back and forth and i dont like leaving a 7 month old alone in the house by herself even to do laundry.

hi there, I hand-wash most of my clothes since I entered college, my school's laundery room was quite small and after I finish my study back to dorm, there are always a lot people in line waiting, so I have most of my clothes hand-washed except large clothes wares in winter and sheets, curtain and somthing like that. Good day!
