No, I don't believe in it, laydee. How can a person love someone at first glance, when they don't know anything about that person to fall in love with in the first place. For me, in order to be INLOVE,you accept everything... the good and the bad things in that person. I do believe in physical attraction at first sight though.
As for the case between me and my husband, the first time we've seen each other, it was just physical attraction. Specifically, I had a crush on him and him on me. We were both teenagers at that time. But I didn't fall in love with him at first glance for sure... I didn't even know what his last name was.

Hmm.. I guess most of us have problems figuring whether the feeling is love or merely attraction. I for one do agree with you when you said that it's impossible to really love just by seeing the person, it entails a much more other than just seeing a person.

Love at first sight cannot be taken at par when it comes to committing to a longtime relationship. What we feel like it is love may only be infatuation towards the other. This can happen due to many reasons. If two people are having the same type of thoughts they are usually attracted.
One of the disciples of Plato once asked him - What is the cure for love at first sight? To this Plato answered "Take a close second look".

Hilaydee,
Myths are myths and they are better on their own way. I never poke my nose into them. they are either inference or hypothesis and have no logic or whatsoever. But I know people who are damn mad after myths. These are mostly the superstitious lots.
