Are you a procrastinator?

There is an old proverb that says "Procrastination is the thief of time" and a great many of us would have to agree. It can be in the small as will as in the big things of life. Whether it's that book that we had planned to write, the cruise we wanted to take or the deck we meant to build, those who keep putting it off, often regret it later. If we really want to do something it's often best to do it now. Otherwise we may end up look the couple who wanted to get married but were waiting until they could afford it and of course, they never could.

You stole my thunder; that was going to be my response. I think everyone has a little bit of a procrastinator in them. Did you know there is even a procrastinator's anonymous?

i tend not to be. i am pretty good at setting out the tasks for the day and then doing them. when i was writing from home, i had to be like that, so it sort of just comes naturally to me. i work in a small office and they like that i am not a procrastinator.

I am unable to move as fast as most people, so I tend to do what I can to get things done as soon as possible, so that I will not only have the amount of time that *I* need to do what I need to do, but so that I won't have to rush around at the last minute, and possibly screw things up because I rushed.

You know I really would like to respond to this but I will have to put it off. Could be I can find time next week.
I am thinking of changing me middle name to "procrastinator". It would be very fitting. I am in awe of people that do it now. For some reason there is always a million other things that get attention right up until it is critical.
I am not alone but somehow that doesn't help. Prioritization is the key but first you have to do that. Well maybe some day!

Hi jbrooks, A very good response, thank you. While it's important to prioritize, a lot of us are like you and leave things for the last minute. There are a few who take things to the other extreme and try to have everything done yesterday. I prefer a happy medium. Blessings.

Right procastination is the thief of time. Sometimes, though we feel to make it now but due to some doubts that we may not be able to make it, we delayed it for tomorrow thinking we could make it better should there would be enough time. Later however, things beyond control happened that the more we were not able to start what we had previously planned. Learning from experiences, I changed a little, Pose as much as possible I do it now what I plan to do.

Yes I admit that I'm a super duper procrastinator. It's something I don't want for myself but sometimes I can't help but to procrastinate over and over again. But I'll definitely change, I promise. It's probably my next New Year's Resolution HAHA.

Unfortunately, I am a procrastinator. I tend to be really lazy, easily discouraged, and attention-shifted most of the time. I would really appreciate and love myself if I am not one, but I really loved procrastinating. I don't know why.

guilty!
mostly for the personal things that i need to do at home or for the family..
at the office, you normally wont delay anything because of the strict deadline and even more strict evaluation for upcoming salary review and so forth..
but i tend to put off things to do at home.. but usually because i am just tooo tired from working the whole week.. not a good excuse, but an honest one..

It is sad. But I procrastinate quite a bit. However, I always incline not to yield for it. Many a times, I wait for somebody to point it out for me, even though I know my job well. This is really bad. I need to work on this and get out of it.
Thanks for this important topic which can open ones eyes.

I'm not a procrastinator and hate procrastinators a lot . i'm the person who never late for any dates or meetings . If it involves a team or a group i will be the one who act fast and quickly . i just don't know why some girls always take a long time to make up and let others to wait . It's very impolite.

Yes, Unfortunately I tend to do it a lot but sometimes I can still be on time and prompt with what I have to do. I'm working on it hahaha. Before it was really bad especially in middle school I would always put off homework until the last minute. My dad helped me out and made me learn that "delayed gratification and rewards" are a lot better since the hard stuff is out of the way. (EX: Playing video games/Watching Tv a lot before homework).

There are times, when I am a bit of a procrastinator. It's not something that I like to do or be, but it's the way that I am. However, it's definitely something that I want to work on. All I can hope is that I'll get rid of what procrastination I will have in me.

I notice some people would lay files on desk to give a nice show of their being busy. I hate putting off my assignments, and bouncing about without focus. As a secretary for life, I pay special attention to prioritizing my work, even for my home chores. I would rather fulfil and leisure, not leisure but burdened by unfinished work.

Hi Pose,
I must admit I do procrastinate at times particularly for things that are not urgent. On many occasions I had put off things that I should have done immediately, and yes there were few times that I missed some opportunities because of this. I work best on a deadline, and until such time I cannot really feel the adrenalin working, but when I start on something, I never stop til it's finished.

I have a tendency to procrastinate. There is a book I am reading now that I can't finish because I'm always putting it down for later. I have to study for a recitation and an exam this week but I'm always putting it off until the day before the exam or recitation. *sigh*
I know this is a bad habit. I'm struggling to get rid of it. Oh, maybe later. ;)
Honestly, you are right. We tend to have more regrets and a lot more stressful when we put off what we can do now or today for later.
