I'm a university student now. Some of my classmates think doing some part-time job is good but it may interfere our study. Most of them don't have a job. I believe it is necessary for me to know about the world, But my parents don't think so. frustrated~~

I think that sometimes it is good for students to have a job as it helps you to learn time management skills and it can give you a little extra money to go have fun. If you don't need the money, it might be better to not work. If you do need money, I would work the least number of hours to meet your needs. Try to find something close to where you live (on campus if possible). If you do start working, make sure that you set aside enough hours each day to be able to do your homework and get some sleep. If you find that you are working so much that you aren't getting your homework done then you should cut back because you are a student first and foremost. If you are tired, you will probably not do well in classes and wind up failing one or more classes. That is something you don't want to do. If you keep all these things in mind, you will be able to do both school and some part time work (not more than maybe 20 hours) and succeed in life. Do you think that helps? Good luck!!!

I am in my last month of college and will be getting my AA degree and I'm quit glad for it. I have had three full time jobs while i have been a student, i know it is important to pay for my bills on my own and to be able to do things on my own without having to ask for money. Now that i am on unemployment and making money online i feel the urge to find a job everyday and look everyday. I have also had two part time jobs, i like money so i am always working to make the money and be able to earn the money that i like. It is up to you on what you want to do, if you feel it is going to interfere with your studies than don't do it, but if you feel you can do it all then go for it and show them you can do it with out the interfere, study on your breaks and make the most of your breaks while at work.

There is nothing wrong with making money while in college. Im also in college and go full time. My only job though is online, that is how I make extra money.

Well... When I was in college I was working three jobs at a time. I worked at an after school program at a local private school, I worked at a copy shop, and I was an adminstrator of an online community. I would do the online job while the store was slow at the copy center, but still, I had to work hard. Before I started working at the copy shop I was a cocktail waitress. One summer (I did summer school every semester) I was even a gardener (the local school didn't offer the program during the summer that I worked at). I couldn't afford to pay for school and rent and bills if I didn't, though. I had a little money before I went to college, and my parents helped me out a little bit. But working hard, I graduated debt free. Now at the age of 23 I am able to own my own home because I didn't have any debt from college to pay off. But if my parents were paying for everything, I don't think I would have worked so much. I would think that if you want a job and your parents are paying for everything, to try and get a job on campus. They try to limit the amount of hours you work and some on campus jobs let you do homework in your down time.

I always hope my family would be either poorer or richer. My parents always give me what I need but no everything I want. They always want me to go the way they hope. They designed it for me and didn't allow me to have a change, even if a part-time job :(
