UPDATE ON ME. Where Have I Been Lately?

As many of you know my life was turned upside down a couple of months ago. Geez, I can't believe it has been that long. It feels like it happened more recently than that! On Tuesday at 2:30 I began my 5 day vacation. Rarely if ever do I take time off for me. It feels great! Considering the fact that I haven't taken time to step back and relax since this all happened, I felt it was time! My health is fine. My blood pressure and EKG are normal. My doctor said I am doing quite well despite everything that has happened. But, I knew that if I didn't take some down time I would probably crash and burn. This week will be spent relaxing. I thought I would sit outside for a while today, but the threat of rain looms overhead. Perhaps tomorrow after I get back from lunch with my sister. She is taking me out for my birthday lunch. I turned 52 on the 30th. I celebrated at home with a nice dinner with the hubby. One way I have found to relax and keep my mind clear is to occupy it with other things. Playing games online has been beneficial for me. I focus on the game and most of my worries are gone. I have to admit, I am a Facebook junkie. I love the games there. I have 3 farms. One I consistently manage. The other two are not a priority. LOL! It is fun, really! I have friends and relatives there too. We help each other out by harvesting, plowing and maintaining the farms. After a 4 week search I managed to find a decent vehicle. It is a 7 passenger Chevy Venture van. Yes, it is big, but it fits my needs. The gas mileage is pretty good for a large vehicle. The price was reasonable too. Work keeps me very busy. I am focused on the care of my clients and that keeps my mind from wandering. My work continues to be something that I look forward to. Finding this job 2 1/2 years ago was a blessing to me. We are going to the beach this weekend with my brother, his wife and my niece. We are leaving at about 6 a.m. and will land at our destination at about 10:00. Long drive, but worth it. The beach we will start isn't too crowded. There are a lot of shells to be found. My niece is looking forward to finding many shells. At about 2:00 we will head back south to New Hampshire. On the way I hope to stop at another beach. One year we found many sand dollars while at this one particular beach. I'd like to take my niece there in search of them. Our motel is in New Hampshire. We are only staying for one night. This motel was the cheapest one we could find. Even so it will cost us $100 for the night. Add the cost of gas and food and that will put quite a dent in the purse! On Sunday we will travel to a beach where we will park for $15 (last year's prices) and have the luxury of the beach, showers and restrooms, and a small store where we can buy lunch/snacks. At the end of the day we will pack up and head for home. Two blissful days on the beach. Ahhhhh, what more could one ask for. SUN!!!! I do get to visit with my sons at least once a week. They are together. My daughter is 4 hours away. I have only visited with her once. I hope to visit with her again before the month ends. They are doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances. I hope and pray that they will recover from this. What keeps me going is the fact that God answered my prayers....they are alive. Each day is a blessing. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends. ~Sigh~ Thank you all for being so supportive to me in my time of need. Big huggers to you all.

That is great that you are relaxing! It is so important. I had been wondering how things had been going with you, but figured you were handling them. Sounds like it's all working out. I am also very addicted to the Facebook games! The Mafia Wars is my favorite! I also have Farmville and Farmtown. I just started a fish tank, and have let my pet and my restaurant go. I think I'm letting Mobsters go, and not too sure yet what I want to do with Ultimate Mafia. I could (and have) spend all day just keeping all that stuff up! Hey, I didn't realize you were so close to me... Or maybe I did and I just forgot... We're going to be putting some serious mileage on the car this week also - leaving for Florida tomorrow after work.

I know that I am holding it together better than my kids are. Someone has to be strong. What is the fish tank all about? I have a couple of farms now. Sometimes I can't get to them all! Hope you had a good time in Florida!

Hey, we had a great time, but it's good to be home too. I think I'm getting in way over my head on these Facebooks apps... I just keep adding more and more of them! It might end up being my full-time job. I hope you're having a good time with them too.

- Just like another member I had to catch up to the problem. It's good seeing you still living your life and healthy roles in regards to that: work, play, mother, friend. About the family issue, I said it in the other discussion but I'll say it here. You can still be there for your children and there still is a chance for all of you. - --============================ /[]__[][]__[][]__[][]__[]||[]__[][]__[]//~~~~~~~ / ##GRATS on Turning 52 Years Young##// \~~~============================/ OO--------OO OO--------OO OO--------OO

Thanks so much for the update, I have often wondered how you were doing. Its wonderful that you are having some vacation, relaxing, unwinding time. Isn't it something the way time flies by, I remember when you were looking for a job, remember the donut shop job, hehe. Its hard to believe that its been that long already. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world, is a forever job too. No matter how old our kids get, we are still the mom. I am so sorry for you, for the troubles your children have found themselves in, I know its heartbreaking for a mom. I haven't signed up yet with facebook, don't know much about it. I have so many things going online as it is. Take care, keep the faith, Big Gentle Hugs for you.

My faith is ever strong. I pray every day for strength to get my children through this. I have to be strong, but sometimes I am weak and cry. But, that is okay. Crying is good too. As long as it doesn't consume me that is. Big huggers to you.

Thanks for this update, and I will be trying to follow your updates as they are posted if I can be online here in myLot. I know sometimes we have to go thru things we may not always understand, but as long as we remember God is in control and will help get us thru, and remember to have some Fun from time to time then in time we can all look back knowing it was worth it all as well. Hope you had a wonderful time, and you are always in my thoughts and Prayers.

Sometimes it seems that I have been put through so many things. But, when I compare them to what others have and are going through, this is minor. Thank you for your prayers Tina. Big huggers to you.

I'm glad you are getting through all this. Your little holiday sounds idyllic and I hope you get out of it what you need and certainly deserve. I'm not clear what all the upheaval was about. You explained briefly at the other place but I don't know the details. If you posted here I must have missed it somehow. Your new vehicle is a BIG change. I hope it does better on your icy roads in winter. More blessings to you my friend.

I did post on here about what happened, but not in great detail. Some things are better left unsaid. My new to me vehicle is just what I needed. I have to buy some good tires for it to prepare for the crappy roads.

I do not know if it would benefit you to sign up with hotel.com for rewards for hotel stays. I did, but we rarely stay at one. I envy you the time off. If we travel lately, it is to see family. We have not even been to the lake this summer, our schedules have been so off from each other. I am envious of you. When we go to New Hampshire it will be winter, but we will stay with hubby's sister. Not sure if we will drive or fly this time. It is good to find what you can to keep your mind positively occupied. Huggers to you friend. Hope to see you now and again.

I tried hotel.com and only came up with places that were too pricey to begin with and the rooms available were still pricey even with their discount. The beaches in the winter are splendid. I have enjoyed walking the beach a few times after a snowfall. Glorious. Big huggers to you!

I'm happy to hear that you are coping, Elusive. Life hands us troubles sometimes, and we just have to handle them in the best way we know how. Your vacation plans sound like just the ticket, and I hope that you'll have a load of fun. Spending time with loved ones can be very calming. As for your children, I will keep them in my prayers. Sometimes things can turn out to be a blessing in disguise. You are a wonderful mother.

Thanks so much for the update! When someone disappears it's hard to sit and wonder what happened to them or how they are doing...I know your kids will come out of this better people...sometimes we just need a wake up call to bring our problems to full attention and I am glad you are okay!

I did pop in every now and again to see what was happening at MyLot. But, I didn't stay long. My mind was spinning. The games have helped me to keep the cobwebs from taking hold. I know what you mean about people dropping out of sight. They leave no clue as to what is happening with them. You can't help but think the worse has happened.

hi elusive butterfly you really have been blessed and sound really happy now. I am glad to hear all that you told us, you deserved some good times. the farms sound great too. I grew up on a farm and I really was glad I did. Fresh air, sunshine, home grown food, its a healthy life style and not as hectic in spite of all the physical work as city life is really, not traffic james, no polluted air. I remember that you had clients and loved your work. I have been gone for nine months so am just now getting back to mylotting again. I am stuck in a retirement home through my sons job loss and being evicted but its sure better than being homeless. my son is in transitional living apt.with three other out of work guys. this economy sure is horrid right now.but am so glad for you. best of luck. hatley here.

Welcome back Hatley. It does seem that this economy is really taking a toll upon us all. We do need to take time to stop and smell the roses.

Hi ElusiveButterfly! It is so good to hear from you and that you are doing okay. I read your previous post and I do remember your situation and sending you a couple of prayers; it was a lot for one person to go through. Welcome back to the Lot! Good on you for taking time out for yourself; your weekend sounds as if it’s going to be fabulous. I hope things will settle down with time and take a positive spin for your kids and, as you say Thank God they are alive! Hope to hear from you again real soon, take real good care of yourself won't you! My thoughts are with you...
