If there was only 1 season throughout the year, what season would you prefer?

I was outside sitting on the deck thinking about it would be so nice to have a weather like this throughout the year here! 80 85 degrees, very warm, sun comes out everyday, a little breezy... how nice?
I would definitely choose summer to be the season, I like hot weather, I like to be able to go to the beach and swim in the ocean all the time! But it is not real... the summer here is so short :-( it is almost done for this year...
What about you? What season would you chose and why?

I would definitely choose spring. I'm not actually a sun lover because i get sweaty a lot. I don't dig rainy season because i can not tolerate cold weather. I'm not really sure if we have spring here but i would definitely want a temperate environment.

On second thoughts, Spring isn't such a bad season. Because you definetly wouldn't want it to be winter all year, and even though you love summer, it would be to hot for it to be that the whole year, so spring could be just perfect, and it's still nice and warm for you to be able to go and jump into the pool!

I would pick Autumn. It isn't too cold or hot. The leaves of the trees change into such beautiful colors. And besides,it is the beginning of hockey season.

Hello Ivy. Yes, I can well understand why and how you can enjoy summer. If I were to choose the season, if at all it can be so ( ha , ha ) , I would definitely choose Spring. That would be so pleasant and refreshing. "Spring time in the Rockies" ! That's what I would be doing throughout the year , enjoying the time at the Canadian Rockies !

Like a lot of people I would have to choose summer. I live in Australia and we can have very hot and dry summers here but I love it!
As long as I don’t burn in the sun I can enjoy swimming and warm summer night walks along the beach.
Give me sunscreen, summer and a swimming costume and I will travel!

I also live in Australia! I must say that it is very hot here though. I love it but I don't think I would be able to handle it for the rest of my whole life. Though yes I do love summer because I can go swimming, and also because it is a work break, which makes it even better! I don't meet much people here on mylot that are from Australia. :)

The summer is great for a while love, to grow flowers. But I like the fact that we get the 3 other seasons also. Each holding a fond memory . Plus we get a freeze that kills all the germs that linger .We get about four hot /humid months . Do you get humidity ?

Not too too humid, not humid that feels like we can't breathe that type, floor won't get wet, only the air gets little sticky.

Freezing makes germs go dormant it does not kill them. The only temperature that KILLS germs is 165 degrees Fahrenheit, or 75 degrees Celsius for 10 seconds or longer. Or so they teach at safe food handlers.
The freezing does give the land a nap to recover from all the work from growing things though. That is how I like to look at the changing seasons, Winter is the sleep, spring the awakening, summer the full alertness of the day, and Autumn as the relaxing evening.
Personally, were I to choose which season, I believe I would go with Spring. You can go swimming, there are loads of flowers, but not too many bugs yet, its not too hot, or to cold, and most importantly I get to go dancing in the rain, not to mention all the chocolate.
Cheers.

I think it would be great if it could be like warm spring time all the year around, with some rainfall to keep plants and vegetables healthy. I wouldn't mind the occasional hot day, but not too many. I have noticed how so many people from hot countries get fed up with constant heat. A little bit of unpleasantness now and again, helps me to appreciated the good times. - Derek

Spring sounds like a good season. Like you said, it's not good to live in a country that is waayyy too hot. Rain is also good and it sometimes does rain in Spring, and some days are hotter or colder than others. Spring is like a nice warm normal body temperature body. I like your opinion.

SUMMMER, SUMMER, SUMMER!!! lol.....I love the hot weather and I love the fact that I don't have to be hot if I do not want...I can either choose to be out in the heat (either at beach or pool) or I can choose to stay in the air-conditioning...lol

My favorite season is summer and rainy season. I've got to wear the fashion clothing of the season I love to wear my summer clothes which are are made of thin fabrics and like to go to beaches and amusement parks. A lot of outdoors activities could be done during summer and this heighten productivity. Then, rainy season i got to wear my favorite boots, and raincoat with colorful umbrella to match with my outfits..

[b]Thanks for a rather original question!
If I HAD to choose only one, it'd be Winter, as--even though I was born in Houston, Texas--I've never acclimated to our triple-digit Summers! ARGH! I've always wondered how our ancestors survived here before air conditioning was invented. Even "Fall" here is more like leftover Summer.
But if I were allowed to fine-tune what season I'd really like, I'd say early Spring...just after the cusp between Winter & Spring. That way, I'd get the best of both worlds: a chance of snow, but no bone-shattering icy cold (which we also get in Texas, sometimes), along with our lovely wildflowers pop out (for 2 weeks or so), & the air, even on the warmest days, has a crisp nip in it, or even a mildly warm breeze.
Oh yeah....that's my kind of season!

As it happens, we're told our heat wave may soon end. I surely do hope so! My electric bill scares me!!

Spring is nice, where I live, spring and winter will fight each other, like 3 days are cold like crazy, 2 days are like warmer spring weather and 2 days are nice days... something like that... I don't like it, the srping that I like will be days are getting warmer each day and see things becomes a live again, it is delighting :-)

I live in a country with 2 seasons only, summer and rainny. Even sun can come in the middle of rainny season and sun can come out too during the rain. I don't like summer, it's hot and sweaty.. I prefer spring or winter.. hmmm,, maybe spring.. I love cold situation but I prefer spring, not winter (too many snow!). During spring, the weather warm and a little bit cold,,perfect weather for me! The flowers bloom, the sun shine not too bright and I'm sure it will be nice, with bird chirping, colorful trees and flowers, and bright sky!

I like summer too.
It is awesome.
I do not have to wear tons of clothes like in the winter.
More than that, I can hang out, barbeque myself on the beach to get sun tan.
Idefinitely go with summer.

hi mermaidivy!^^
if there would be only one season throughout the year, i would prefer fall. not too cold, not too hot with a lot of wind and a little less sun. and falling leaves too.^^ i don't like summer, the hot weather. although, i like swimming. but i don't like too much sun and too much sweat. i also don't like the rainy days. we don't have winter here but i think i wouldn't like it too. it's hard to tolerate too much cold.^^

Mine would definitely be autumn! I just love that time of year, around here. Temperatures are in the 60s - low 70s and the trees are just beautiful. Things are still green and beautiful, but without that awful heat and humidity we get where I live in the summer months.

I prefer SPRING, with temperature less than 20 degree C.
Because we are now in the equatorial region, very warm everyday, temperature at about 32 degree C. And only on holidays we can go to highlands where the temperature is less than 20 degree C. WE enjoy the breezes and fresh air very much !

Wow, this topic of discussion is the first that I've seen that has hit the 100 mark in terms of responses and comments. Well, done! :)
I'd like to have summer year round with cool breeze blowing in my face. The climate over here is humid and hot, and that's why many houses have air-conditioning units installed in each room!!
