After about 1 month's tough time of being laid-off, I found another job at last. Th
Thank godness. The so called finance crisis really has brought much trouble for us, as I have experienced in my career of seeking for a job. Life is never easy. I would cherish this one. Work hard and prevent been laid off again. I really do not want to send email resume or go to interview or wait for phone call of interviews again. It is really hard. 3 months in 2009 I have been laid of.
thanks are in order for everyone who helps me, expecially that guy who works as a free writer. Today when they told me to go to work next week, I was about to cry out. I thank them again and again. Maybe they could not understand why. But remember friends, been out of income is really a terrible and horrible thing.
My gf has always been with me. Although sometimes she got angry with me because I have no job, she helped me a lot both in material and psychological. I really want to thank her. During my tough time, we watched the movie "the persuit of happiness" together, and my experience is similar with the lead actor. as he says, " this little part of my life is called happiness"
Thank GOD again.

I am glad you have found a job. I have been unemployed since the beginning of February and have turned to the internet to find more work,. everyday i look for a job and sometimes i find some good ones but then i find some bad ones but still send my resume to as many people as possible hoping to find a job soon. Its hard knowing that so many people are asking for that one job you sent your resume too and hoping they will call you is a think you always look forward too. I hope to find a job by the end of the year and now having a AA degree in business i hope that will help me along my way of finding a job.
Me and my EX had many offs and on's with jobs the years we were together and he has been unemployed since October of 2008 and i believe he still doesn't have aj ob so the economy is just hurting every one out there and its so hard right now to find and keep a job.

Congratulations! I agree with you even though money isn't about everything, without it life can be difficult. Lucky that your gf was there for you through thick and thin. I have resigned from my job because of something I could not handle. Yes, I know it may sound unfair to some people who have been laid off, but like you said, life is never easy. We can't have all of them, but I hope thinking positively will help. So, when I'm ready to go to work again, I hope I will land on a better one. For you, I wish you all the best and hope your new job is a blessing in disguise after the hardship.

Well I can certainly empathize with you........I have a offer letter of one of the finest hotels but then they were not calling me stating that because of the economic slowdown they were not able to recruit any fresh candidates.......
I had to spend 2 months without any job, and it was taking a toll on me, as earlier i was finding it OK as I thought it would be a matter of few days, but then when they were not calling me for about 2 months then I started getting frustrated because of the constant nagging from relatives and parents.......
I went out looking for a job outside my filed and was lucky enough to get a job, what a joy it was.....I got paid more tan what I was getting from my earlier job.......but then I still feel bad that after having specialized in hotel industry I am working in some another field.........
But then its ok, I atleast have a job for now and can support my family and keep myself occupied.......
Congratulation and may god bless you in your new job !!!!!

Congratulations for you. I know it must have been hard to lose income. Just stay at home and looking through jobs and going to interview process. Just remember all that pain when you're not having a job when you work later on and do the best you can. Even if you demotivated (and I am sure every human going through this process at some point of his career), your boss is pain in the *ss, always remember your past experience...

Hello Ceolight,
First of all I want to say CONGRATULATIONS! my friend. I totally understand your frastration not being able to find work. I too am in finance and I was laid off from a Private Bank a little over one year ago. Long, long very long time to be out of work. It's so hard to find work these days, it's not even funny. I applied for all kind of jobs, from secretary to receptionist...etc....nobody is even calling to say boo....I am trying very hard to stay positive and have faith. If I lose those things than I really have nothing left. :)
We all have to count our blessings. I thank God every day I have my health.
Good Luck with your new job and I think when you get your first paycheck you should take that pretty girlfriend of yours out to a nice dinner. :)
Take care my friend!

Congratulation. Its good that you found a job again. With the financial crisis going on right now, no matter how bad things are going on at work and no matter the pressure, we really need to be thankful we still have jobs. Its not easy to find a job these days. During interview, you really have to sell ourselves just to be accepted.

Congratulations and my advice to you is to take a look at your working attitude in your past job. Analyze the things that you think you need to change and what you need to work on. You see self criticism is what we need for us to be propel in our jobs and if we don't do it then we will continue to move from jobs to jobs. All the best and give your girlfriend a big and wonderful kiss for being there for you.Now this kiss should be different from the usual ones. Not all females are like that.

thanks, the reason why I lost my previous job is quite complex. All I have to say is I am just too want to get sth that I eventually lost sth. My work attitude is not that bad while I really did not think I would stay long in that position. What surprises me is it comes too soon fo me to get prepared for it. Also I did not know it would be so difficult to find a satisfatory job. Thanks again

Hi Friends,Getting laid-off is really a troublesome experience. In my company also there was lay-off. Thankfully to God I was not laid off. But the experience started some thinking in me to start a part-time independent business so that I can generate some income which will be helpful during time like recession or global financial crisis or some personal needs. It is really a good business and any individual can pursue this on part-time at a low start-up cost. A system at home and internet connection is all that is required. It is suitable for IT or software professionals, MBA's or Sales or Marketing People or anybody having a passion for working on the internet. The company with which I have started business is a US based MNC with office in New Delhi. The business model is based on Online Network Marketing promoting web based video communication technology products and services. So try to be independent and achieve financial freedom alongside with your current job. If anybody is interested mail to techno.lotus@gmail.com

ha, thanks for your advise, but maybe I am not suitable for your job requirement. I have not god a MBA's degree or sth like that. or else it would not be that hard for me to find a good job. yes part-time job is a good choise for us who want to make money out of their daily job. I have done several part-time jobs befor, generally as freelancer or editor. Best wishes to your business.

That is a good thing. During a recession or a depression. Whichever we are in. If you have a job nothing is really wrong, but when you don't have one then your more falling to the depression. I am lucky that I have a god. God bless you all and I hope the unemployed will be employed soon!
