I am not in the habit of doing this. i will just check when i want to look for a medicine that i need in case that i need to buy something i make sure i don't have any thing on my shelf before i buy it. so only then upon checking that i will notice that most of my New medicies were not new any more and are expired already and has been sitting inside the cabinet or shelf for a long time and was years already since i have bought them. i would often forget to take them like the multivitamins. like i threw bottles of centrum. actually centrum is kind strong and makes some people have some problems when they take centrum.

Yeah, it happens with me too. I do check their expiry dates often, in fact, i have a kind of medicine expiry phobia. I am really conscious on the matter. Also, i believe is always good to check those expiry dates otherwise a these vital entities may prove to be dangerous. Happy Mylotting!!

oh it is good that you have the time to check that medicine cabinet often. it is hard to remember our medicines and many times it feels boring and big hassle to do that for most people. i rarely see people who love to checks on the expiration date of their medicines often enough to see if there are some medicines nearing its expiration or have reached its expiration date.

Hello friend very important discussion to put up. I have the habit to check the expiration date once in a month and I think thats a good one too. Further, I always check for the expiry date while buying them also and in most of the cases after consuming some medicines the wrappers become such that we may not be able to detect the expiry dates on them. These are very dangerous as in many cases people eat such medicines believing that they had checked the expiry date previously. In such a case I write the expiry date on them with a permanent marker much before its consumption so that it may be suitably utilized without much danger.

yes i compulsorily check the expiration date while purchasing the medicine and also the old medicines i have at home.bcoz my grandfather made it a habit to check the expiry date for the medicines.not only for medicines i even check the expiry date of food items i purchase, bcoz some items like bread have only 3-4 days expiry time so it is important to check their expiry date also.

I do check the medicine expiry every time I take it or every time I give someone the medication. It is really important to check them out considering that expired medications may cause serious health problems. They might even cause poisoning.

Ya. i will surely check the expiry date of a medicine. Even before giving money for the medical shop , i will check the expiration date. It is very dangerous to consume expired medicines. Your body will face side effects.

You know, I actually do this periodically. I check the dates. Really, I don't think they are unsafe most of the time, it's just another trick to get us to buy more! But I check the dates every so often jsut to make sure I haven't kept something for like 5 years or anything!

I do this always, even when I buy medicines from over the counter. I don't like Centrum. It makes me feel hungry always.

I was told that if you take out date medication it can cause harm to your liver and or kidneys. For that reason alone I started being careful with all meds and supplements for me and my family.

I check the expiration date on everything, medication, milk, I even know you're only supposed to keep canned goods for 18 months.

Yes I often check the expiry date of medicines and keep throwing them away if it is of no more use. Sometimes my box in the medicine cabinet gets overflowed with medicines and capsules that I keep checking for the expiry. If the full course of the medicines prescribed by the doctor is not consumed the chances of accumalation are more and we tend to buy more when there is re attack.

I do not have habit of checking the expiry date of medicines in my shelf regularly. But, I make sure to check it before I take any medicines or give it to anyone. Since the medicines' expiry dates are more than 1-2 years I become lazy to check them frequently. Whenever I take medicine, I check all the medicines and throw the expired ones.

I only check expiry date when I buy the medicines.Very rarely when the color of the medicine wrapper goes off or and it looks very old I check the expiry date.I recommend checking the expiry date often as it can be dangerous to take expired medicines.
