I like them both for different reasons. Windows 7 is the best OS i have ever used. I like it because of its compatibility, simpicity, user frendliness and good internet exerience while i use mac osx snow leopard due to its media playback, and enhanced security. I am looking forward to replace linux with chrome os

I grew up with Windows, so I would probably prefer it. I never worked with a Mac. From YouTube videos I think the interface is much different. Windows never let me down, well, except Windows Vista. There is also more video games available for Windows. Mac is also not very popular here.

in addition to my earlier post, i will add that most of the differences which set Mac OS X apart from any form of windows only appear when you look deeper. on the surface they are similar, but dig deeper and you find the technology behind OS X is infinitely superior. with snow leopard out soon they move exclusively to 64-bit which will help no end and windows need to follow suit. also, windows has the dreaded registry, and .dll files (you may recognize these from frequent error messages). over time, these break or corrupt, causing your windows machine to slow down, hence the need for a clean re-install of windows. now this never happens with OS X, you can run it for many years without the need for a format. another fantastic feature of Mac OS X compared to windows is Spotlight. Spotlight runs very discretely on your mac and constantly indexes your hard drive so you can search for and find any file, program, shortcut, anything within seconds. you can do this on Vista or 7 but not as fast.
yet another outstanding feature for OS X is the bootloader, capable of dual, triple, quad... heck, octuple booting your machine with seemingly limitless different operating systems. technically, with a big enough hard drive you could choose between OS X, 7, Vista, XP and several linux distro's when you boot your machine with the help of an app called ReFit. and plus, a Mac machine runs all these OS's natively, unlike a windows machine which only supports windows itself or linux. running OS X creates a lot of compatibility problems.

It depends why you use your computer. Each has its advantages and disadvantages

i had this very conversation with my friend last night, lasted hours so i wont bore you with the details.
put simply, macs are brilliant, beautiful and very, very expensive. and thats the only reason they don't sell as much as Microsoft.
personally i prefer macs to windows as OS X is faster, better looking, more productive for my personal use and easier to manage for me, than windows. however, having used windows 7 briefly, i might be about to change my mind :)
