I am female and I am a really keen traveler. I used to travel alone when I was younger. I traveled around Europe by train when I was 18 years old. I stayed in youth hostels and met many friendly people to chat to. I went around the world on my own when I was 20 years old. I have been to lots of countries alone. I fell down a drain in Malaysia and after that strangers were kind to me. I only faced danger in one country and I have learned from that experience not to wander along lonely beaches. These days I travel with my toddler son and now I will travel with him and my baby daughter.

Maybe it depends on where you are going. I am also a girl, but I have been to many places... alone. It wasn't really a big deal for me. I find it fun, especially if it's my first time in a place, wherein I have to explore it alone. I don't have to consider whoever I am with... and can just go anywhere when I want to. Another exciting thing when travelling alone is when you don't understand the language used in that certain place.
The downside of being alone though, is being bored. Also, just as you mentioned, there really are some place where I have doubts of visiting, just because I am a woman. Of course, no matter how fun travelling may seem, I always need to consider my safety.

I love to travel with a friend then by myself. Its more fun to travel with someone than being all by yourself. Especially if you are at the airport you need to use the restroom. Instead of dragging your luggage with you, you can take turns going to the restroom. Also its having someone to talk to and just to have fun with.

There is a possibility of danger lurking for girls when travel alone, but it all depends on the situation at the places you are visiting. Of course, when the place is not safe, guys can become a target too. It's merely because of some people thinking that girls being soft and weak, which is totally irritating, but better be safe than sorry, right?! To me, I prefer to travel with my hubby and better if I could bring the whole family, my parents, siblings, nephews and niece haha... I am a family oriented woman and I love to share the fun, adventures and beautiful moments with the people I love.

I prefer to travel with my husband, because I think that it is great when we are able to share the experiences and talk about the things that we see. I also feel more safe when we are travelling together. I don't like to go out at night when I travel on my own. When my husband and I are together it is much easier to go out for dinner or for a drink. When I was younger I often travelled on my own. I was not afraid of travelling alone, but it was a bit lonely sometimes, and that is one of the reason why I prefer to travel with my husband or with a group.
