Hey everyone! I would like to discuss labor stories.....I had a wonderful pregnancy but a bad labor. First of all i was four days late, was planning to go to the doctor that morning so i had my mother stay at the house so she could go with me. Around midnight i started having labor pains, my mother was asleep and i couldn't wake her because she has epilepsy...(she needs sleep otherwise she will have a seizure)...So the only thing i could do was pass the time by exercising and watched a little tv. Around 5am i had to wake her, i couldn't take it anymore. She quickly brushed her teeth and off we went. When i arrived at the hospital, i had to wait until my doctor got there. When she arrived she told me that my baby was breached and all of the c-section doctors were out of town...so she gave me a shot to slow down my contractions and i went by ambulance to the nearest hospital that could deliver my baby (an hour away). When i arrived there, the doctors told me that i could have a natural birth. By this time it was like 9am. To make a long story short, I was having complications all day long. He wasn't born until 11pm that night...and it was by c-section. 23 hours of labor! Please feel free to share your stories!

My first labor experience is the more memorable one. I went to the hospital on Tuesday evening, sure that my water was leaking and it was just a hair over three weeks before my daughter was due. After being in the hospital on observation for two hours they sent me home because my water wasn't leaking and I wasn't contracting. As we were leaving the hospital I joked with the nurses that I would see them in the morning.
Went home, went to bed, slept. They gave me some Ambien to help me sleep. I wake up at about 7 in the morning and go to the bathroom and there is gush upon gush of liquid. I knew then that my water had broken. Tried to stay calm, waited about an hour and went to get my husband up and to tell him that we needed to go to the hospital. He refused to get out of bed. He was convinced that I was kidding. Once I finally got him out of bed we went to the hospital where they confirmed that my water had indeed broken. But. . .I wasn't contracting so I ended up having to have an induction after my water broke. We got the the hospital at about 9:30 am, our daughter was born at 1:46 pm. I only had a half dose of stadol for pain.

Sounds like a typical man to me. I think when i woke my partner up he thought i was kidding until he realised that my waters had broke in the bed.

Oh my GOd that was such a long hours of labor!
When I gave birth, I didn't have any contractions. It was just my doctor who advised me to go to the hospital and she said that I was about to give birth already. But the thing is I didn't feel anything. So I was admitted Sunday at about 6pm til the next day I didn't feel any pain. So they added the dose of oxytocin (hope I spell it right) but it has no effect to me. Until 9pm, my doctor decided to bring me to the delivery room and they injected me something that makes the contractions. Oh my GOd!!! It was really painful. Bu thank God I had a normal delivery and my baby is healthy. She is four years old now. I don't want t have another baby because I can no longer take the pain of delivery.

Hi Angel,
Mine came three weeks earlier than expected, and I delivered him the natural way. I was preparing for work in the morning, I went to the toilet to make a pee, and an enormous ball of blood came out of me, but I didn't feel any pain, nothing at all. But I was scared nonetheless, so my husband brought me to the hospital immediately. There I was advised that the baby is gonna come soon. My foot! soon turned out to be 21 hours more! I asked my OB to give me epidural everytime I felt the (labor) pain, but she refused as she told me it's not advised, so I had to endure the pain, and it went on the whole day and the night that followed. I finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy after 21 hours. Seeing my baby for the first time erased all the hardships I experience in bringing him out into this world.

My daughter decided she wanted to come 1 day before her due date. I woke up at 4am and my waters broke in the bed i went to the hospital but they sent me home because i wasnt in labour properly yet, i went back at 9am and didnt get around to the pushing stage until 8pm, after 57 minutes of pushing my daughter was born at 8.57pm and she weighed 6lb 13oz. I was in eastablised labour for just over 10 hours. I cant complain really as i had a relativley easy and uncomplicated labour. I did it all on a shot of pethidine early in labour and then just on gas and air in the later stages so i was really pleased. I did ask for an epidural but they said no because i didnt need one, i knew i didnt need one but thought it'd be easier. It is the worst undescribable pain you could ever imagine but its worth it the moment that you see your child, id do it again in a heartbeat.
