Is it possible to make $2,000 a month without working a regular 9-5 job?
I'm a stay-at-home mom who is trying to make an online living. I'm challenging myself to make $2,000 this month, primarily from online endeavors. I've started writing an ebook. I will be rethinking my personal blog strategies and going forward with those. I blog for a site and hope to receive my first check for over 1/4 of my goal soon. I do write for Associated Content, but I haven't written anything for them since I've started blogging for a company. However, I have been receiving small payments from them for my page-per-view earnings for previously published articles. To reach my %2,000 goal, I will be submitting articles this month for upfront payment. I am selling items on ebay and have a few books up for sale on Amazon. Also, I'm selling items locally on consignment.
Any other suggestions?

Do not take this as discouragment attempt. Just a word from a friend, a warn sign "keep your both legs on earth".
Be realistic. By associate content, mylot and few similar you can not make a REGULAR 2k/month. You need - later - to step furthure into freelancing or online marketing.
Up to that time, you MAY reach the target with hard work and courage.
I will send you a private message with one more site where you can get paid for writing articles.
Good luck.

Freelance writing is the best way to go. But Associated Content won't be enough. Go to Elance or some such site for freelance writers and see if you can get assignments. Put together a writing resume of everywhere you have been published. If you haven't had any professional sales except AC, get a hold of a copy of Writer's Market and read the guidelines of various magazines. Pay special attention to the chapter in the book on how to prepare a submission- sending out a query letter first, when you get an idea for an article. Remember, once an article appears online, in any form, it is considered published and cannot be sold to a magazine except as a reprint. You will most likely face a great deal of rejection in the beginning.
But a single article in a high end magazine can fetch over 1,000 dollars. Two will fetch over 2,000.

Thanks for the tips. I have submitted a few articles to Helium and Triond. I haven't tried Elance, but I will look into it.
Recently, I've thumbed through a 2008 Writer's Market. However, that's as far as I got. I used this resource years ago when I attempted to have some poems published. I haven't tried writing a query for my work since then. It's time to try again. I have a different mindset now. Thanks, again.

Hello Yodeyo, and welcome to MyLot. You've set yourself a great goal, and yes, it is possible, but I do believe it takes time, hard work, and good quality of all you do to reach that goal. If you'd like to earn more writing, try a place online call Constant Content. They pay upfront and very well for articles written by freelancers! Also check out Helium dot com. You can write for the market place there once you've proven your skills, and they also pay well and upfront when your articles are accepted by a buyer.
Best wishes in your endeavors :)

Thanks, Karen! I'm revising my first Constant Content submission. So far, I've published three articles with Helium. After finding Associated Content, I've neglected Helium. I still go on the site to see how my articles are doing, but I haven't submitted any articles there since May or early June.

to be a freelancer seems cool and congrats that you've already archived 1/4 of your goals, my suggestion is why not try financial market like buy some stocks or try forex as the fact that the world economy is recovering.

From what I have read, you are on the right track to reaching your goal. Don't be fooled, it is definately work. You have to look at it as a normal nine to five job and really apply yourself if you really want to reach your goal. I have been told that selling things on craigslist can bring a lot more money than selling them on ebay or amazon, so you may want to try there too. In addition to your on-line ventures, you may consider doing something off-line from home such as babysitting a couple of kids. You are already at home with your own kids, you might as well give them playmates and earn a little while they have fun.(Just a suggestion)
I think that the most important thing is that you are sure to manage and schedule your time to make the most of it. For example, you can spend, let's say, two hours writing articles and then blog for an hour, visit ebay or other on-line selling sites to add things and maintain your accounts, but not to shop around for other things (save that for later when you are not working), and then, let's say another hour here on mylot. That would put you on-line doing something to make money at least 6 hours each day. If you use the time wisely, you could really end up doing well.
Good luck in reaching your goal. Keep us posted so we know how you are progressing towards it!

Don't work too hard for money.Health is always the most important. Earning money from huge internet market is feasible. Writing books is not a easy task, so don't forget have a break when you are tired.
