the files of XP system can not be opened in Apple computer, how to solve it?

The word documents done in the windows XP system, can not be opened under the max os system of Apple computer when spreaded by USB Flash Disk, how to solve this problem?

I suppose you would need some kind of middle ware that will translate it from one system to another.The same holds true for linux files and windows files.

I never had a problem with this either using OpenOffice.org or Microsoft Office. Do you get any error message? Do you use MS Office?
