I heard the phrase for sure anna and I never intended to have a picture of a role model in my life but I have a boyfriend who is tall, dark and handsome I think i have got what I deserve. I do not love his appearances but his personality, his maturity, and understanding.

I like the teddy bear type. I also like light skinned or lightly tanned and dark haired. I can't stand men with blond hair...not sure why. Being handsome isn't a huge factor for me since I'm more interested in what their like inside and how they treat me. I also like the quiet, homebody types as opposed to the sporty outdoor loud partying type.

Mine was a slight variation - during my high school and college days, I admired the 'tall, fair and handsome' guys. And I married a tall, fair and definitely not handsome man - well, my girlfriends used to say, two out of three is better than nothing!

To me, the tall, dark and handsome is dark haired. And YES, that is what I go for. I married a tall, dark haired man, who I think is handsome. I think the handsome part is subjective and is in the eye of the beholder as they say. Saying all of that... It's easy to get a crush on a guy if he is happy, upbeat, in shape, confident, funny, smart etc... I really think you are attracted by certain traits, but really liking someone goes beyond that initial attraction. Personality does matter!

Yeah I agree with the stuff you said. For one- tall dark and handsome can definitely be attractive! I also take it to mean dark-haired- I think the phrase could apply to someone who is either light or dark skinned. Handsome is subjective, but there are still some people who most would consider better looking than others. And of course there is more to attraction than looks! That's definitely more important overall... people will still have they're preferences for looks, anyway, though some will care more about that than others, I suppose.

I guess i can't settle for less, I need to be totally awed by my guy, therefore he needs to be tall, handsome, intelligent, funny, kind... if you think i'm asking to much, wait till you hear the whole list. hahaha.
But has anyone noticed that girls these days are generally more good looking than a men? some local dj said that its because the not so good looking women have extinct. hahah. nasty thing to say but makes you wonder. When was the last time you saw a REALLY handsome guy, the one that makes your knees weak like in the novels?

Well hey, you may sound picky, but there's no need to invest a relationship if the guy isn't really something special! I also won't just date whoever comes along and is ok and convenient. I think maybe girls have just gotten good at doing hair or makeup or something or dressing and guys pretty much stay the same all the time. Hmm I dunno what was the last time someone totally awed me... maybe it's been a while since that, but there have definitely been some pretty good looking boys around! haha

I do like tall men, because I'm five foot nine (I also weigh 118 pounds haha - tall, thin, and lanky, anyone?). But most of the men I fall for are about six foot or a little taller, with blue or green eyes, and they all either have brown or black hair. Fair or tan doesn't seem to matter much to me when I fall for a guy. And I like kind of strong features and soft eyes.
There was, of course, the one exception: the classic blonde haired, blue eyed boy with the delicate features, haha.

I'm tallish too (5'8") so I go for taller guys for the same reason- also 6' or more (preferably anyway). And I do also tend to like dark hair. I like light eyes with dark, hair too- I think it is an interesting looking combination. Complexion is irrelevant, for me, too, but I'm not sure if it's what the expression gets at. Anyway, everyone looks dark compared to me- I'm so light! Ahh but blonde and blue-eyed: another cliche haha!
