Yes, I did and that is the most embarassing moment I had during my school days. I slept in my class and the teached made me stand up for sometime. I knew that my teacher was noticing me sleeping, but I couldn't control.
Please share your experience sleeping class.

Have I ever slept off in class?
Many many times! In fact, I developed it into a fine art. I used to sleep so often in class, and I did it so well, that my college debated giving me a B.A degree in Sleepology!
Did you know there are ways to sleep in class, certain postures you can adapt - that not even your neighbor will suspect you are asleep!
The easiest way is to prop your chin up with one palm, have a book open on your desk, and then tilt your head downward - to indicate a reading posture.
The palm will support your head while you catch up on that badly needed nap. It works, believe me (as long as you can avoid snoring!)This is the voice of experience speaking.
An added advantage of all these sleepy experiments was that when I eventually became a teacher, I knew what the 'chin proppers' in my classroom were upto!

It seems you have done a research about the topic. LOL. I was very angery with the teacher who punished me for sleeping in the class. When I put myself in the shoes of a teacher only I realized that it is very irritation for a teacher that a student sleeps in the class. Thanks for the response.

Hi JAG2009, You have posted your idea with good humor. I like the postures you have recommended for class nappers. Have you ever taken a nap as a teacher?
Happy mylotting.

No, I have not slept in my class during my student life. I know some of the subject and topics used to be very boring particularly after the lunch session, I used to keep looking at my watch for the bell to ring and have a sigh of relief.

I also used to look at my watch during boring classes. I only used to do one thing. Be in the class physcially, but travel to different places in your mind. I can exercise it very successfully. I will be totally out of mind in class. This is one thing I did in boring classes. But, luckily I passed all my courses with good grades. Thanks for the response.

No, i never sleep in class if ever i always yawn and cover my mouththen, I remember my teacher scold me when I make sounds with my shoes brushing on the floors and she called my names to see what I am doing. I really feel ashamed and since that i control myself not too create too much noises while sitting on my chairs..

I used to yawn a lot in boring classes, but I always made a point to hide my yawn from teachers. I don't want my teachers to give a bad feeling knowing them that I am sleepy. I took tution for sometime. Then only I realized that how bad a teacher will feel when the students won't listen or sleep. Thanks for the response.

Well, i have never done that. I used to be the most attentive student and i was one of those who used to prepare notes in the class. But i have seen other students who really doze off right in front of the teacher.
However, i'm having a difficult time controlling my sleep at office. People make me really conscious (stare and disturb my aura) and do not let me doze off

Lol. I also have the same problem in office especially when there is no work. It is diffcult to deal with idle time without sleeping. It seems you were a good student. I was always a careless student in class, but I used to study when I go home and get good marks. Thanks for the response.

Only blured your eyes? It is good not to sleep in the class, but sometimes you don't have a control over that. Sleeping feeling is something you can't control over a limit. Anyway, it is good to hear that you don't have experience getting punishec by teachers for sleeping in class.

I remember some teachers doing the chalk treatment on me. It is a common thing amoung teachers. Also, if the teacher finds that you are not attending the class properly she will do the same too. I mean that time when your body is in the class and mind is somewhere else. Lol. It is nice to think about those days. Thanks for the response.

Well, I don't sleep in class while teacher is teaching the class. This is coz I respect my teacher. Paying attention for the topic you should study in class that your teacher is taught is our responsibilities as a student. If I were your teacher, I will not happy when you sleep in my class. Rather if you wanna sleep in class, why not you go back and sleep in your bed?
If you feel sleepy after your lunch, try to have candies in class. This can make you awake. Or else, just to take a small cup of coffee can refresh your mind too. So focus when you're in class.
Happy study!!!:p

I am sorry. You have brought up and important point. I have never put myself in the shoes of a teacher. I won't like a student to sleep when I am the teacher. I feel like it is an insult to me or I am not teaching in an interesting way. Now, I can look at the situation in a better way.
Also, sleep is something which we can't control. I think I didn't sleep well in the prvious day. I could have had a candy or a coffee before the class. There is no way to get coffee in my school at that time. I could have got a toffee. Thanks for the response.

Oh Yeah! I will take you down the memory lane-flashback when i was in class nine. We had an excellent English teacher and english being one of my favorite subjects used to look foward for her classes. One fine day a lesson in prose was so dry and the teacher was explaining it in a hushy hushy tone that it was like a lullaby and i went off to sleep. I was on the front bench but i was not observed by the teacher as she was engrossed in her drama of making the lesson interesting. Suddenly i woke up startled when she uttered the name of a character in a loud voice. May be the entire class was dozing and she had to give a jolt.
You know something i used to get even dreams whenever i slept in the class.
Happy mylotting.

Yes, at that time my stomach feel really hurt and it's break time, so I slept in class until half of the lesson and thanks that my friend woke me up when the teacher come! I never fell asleep again since that.. But there's one of my teacher who teach with monotone sounds and all my friends in a class feel sleepy, try not to sleep. but of course some of them fell asleep and that teacher will ask those who sleep to wash their face,,as simple as that.. Or he will ask us to take point as punishment (the more points we get, it can affect our score and it's bad)..
