I love watching movies and there are so many good lines from films.
I think Sideways has great one liners. Jack says when discussing different types of wine 'if anyone orders Merolt I'm leaving. I'm not drinking any f***ing Merlot'.
Another Favourite quote is from Scarface. Tony says when turning to shoot his machine gun... 'you wanna play rough? Ok say hello to my little friend'.
What are your favourite lines from movies?

I think one of my favorite lines is "Budweiser and Brownies, breakfast of champions". I just think that was hilarious. I'm not sure if I got the words exactly correct, but just the whole situation of the movie and the good spirit that went along with it, was what made it funny.
Interesting topic! Have a great day here on myLot!

not as succinct but memorable none the less -
"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family, Choose a big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends... Choose your future. Choose life."

"Listen, Hayase! You aren't going to get a man acting like that. Sometimes you just have to be a woman and that even includes telling a guy 'yes, you are right' even when he's completely wrong! And you Ichijou, you have to be much more of a man dammit, to the point of actually going and taking what you want!"
- Roy Focker, (Movie: Macross - Ai Oboete Imasu ka)
"Cyclops? Well what do they call you? Wheels?"
- Wolverine (X-Men 1)
"Now remember Ataru, this will only work if you think about Lum. I'm starting"
***The two end up in a dimension consisting of a female harem.***
"Let me guess... you thought of what you really wanted..."
- Lahla (Urusei Yatsura 3)
"Did you know that the first Matrix, was designed to be a perfect human world, where none suffered, where everyone could be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program, entire crops (of humans) were lost(disposed off). Some believed that we lacked the programming to describe your perfect human world, but I believe that humans define their reality through misery and suffering. That's why your perfect world was really a dream your primitive human minds just kept trying to wake up from."
- Agent Smith (The Matrix)
"Get to the Choppa" - (sorry I had to ;p)

Urusei Yatsura 3 is pretty much the third animated film of the Urusei Yatsura franchise (in short - its an off the wall romantic comedy)
The Matrix is a cyberpunk, martial arts action and science fiction movie.

Rhett Butler to Scarlet ohara in Gone with the Wind,"Frankly my dear, I dont give a damn." that was so good,it always stuck with
me all these many years since I saw the movie. It fit so perfectly
with all that was going on. Once when I was really upset with my hubby, I said Frankly my dear I dont give a damn.then we both burst out laughing and promptly forgot what we were arguing about. ha.Also Arnold Schwartzinhiemer saying Ill be back. great line.

That Gone With the Wind quots is such a classic one! I still have yet to see the film but am very aware of that particular quote. I think your use of it in the middle of an argument is brilliant! Must have been hilarious. I must remember that one when I am in trouble with the other half! thanks for the comment

One line I like is a comedy its about a woman living in the ghetto and trying to help her kids and decided to go up against the dance hall queen to win the title. I can't remember how the trouble started but there was a man went up to her brother and told him "walk and live, talk and b----live".I think the brother went crazy after that. The movie was called dancehall queen.check it out you might like it.

Now that I'm finished hijacking your discussion... LOL I have several:
In adoring memory of John Hughes....
"It's sort of social. Demented and sad, but social." - Bender, The Breakfast Club
"Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people." Ferris Bueller, Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Also, non-John Hughes quotes....
"Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?" - Frank the Rabbit, Donnie Darko
"Marla, the little scratch on the roof of your mouth that would heal if only you could stop tonguing it." "Narrator," Fight Club (mostly because he's referring to the one, the only, the amazing Helena Bonham Carter....)
"Well, Sinead O'Rebellion! Shock me shock me shock me with that deviant behavior." Gina, Empire Records (I could make a whole post with nothing but Empire Records quotes LOL....another great one: "Have I fired anyone yet today? No. Why would I start with you?" Joe)

The latest movie that I watched was Night at the Museum 2. I still remember that line that was delivered by Robin Wiliams wherein he says that "sometimes, it is better to tell a small lie than to bear the pain of hearing the truth." It reminds me that you should not be totally honest. I don't mean that it is just ok but there are times that just have to conceal the truth.

Have not seen that film, something that didnt really appeal to me. Although saying that Robin Williams makes me giggle. It hink most people tell white lies for that very reason. I do try to live my life and be as truthful as possible. What about you? thanks for the comment

Okay so I love comedies and movies from the 80s. A few favorites come from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. "This is U.S. History. I see the globe right there!" made me laugh. Also from Pretty in Pink I liked "You told me you couldn't believe in someone who didn't believe in you. I believed in you I always believed in you. I just didn't believe in me. I love you...always." That line makes my eyes water everytime!
