I think the biggest key is to be happy and gratiful for what you do have. So many ppl worry about what's missing in their lives that they don't take time to see what they do have. Like I'm happy that I have a good husband and a cat that loves me, a safe home and enough money to pay bills. Sure I'd like to have fine furniture and take some trips but I'm not getting depressed over not having it. There's a lot of ppl that don't have what I have so I try to remember that.

I think a lot of ppl are like that. They get used to looking at what they don't have and wanting things so much that they don't stop to see what they do have. It always reminds me of that song, I think it's by Sawyer Brown called "Wantin' and Havin' It All". It's a great song and the video is great too. I did a little digging and found the song (not the original video though) and the lyrics b/c it's a little hard to understand. I hope you like it.

Be content with yourself as an individual; good, bad and ugly; that is the key; know that you cannot please everyone. You got folks out there that cannot be happy for themselves, so how are you going to try? Work on you, please the good Lord and give yourself the best life you can while on earth.

I would be very proud to answer this question for the answer for my happiness is Jesus Christ. Everytime I think about how He has saved mr from the darkness always lights a smile in my face. There is contentment and assurance. The key to happiness is knowing that I am loved, I am saved, and I will never be alone because Jesus never forgets His promises.

Hey,
To be happy in life, u have to make others happy. At least i think this way. Dont be selfish in life. Do something which is creative and helpful to others. Success and joy is bound to come your way.
Cheers,
Tutul

happiness means getting what you really needed or wanted..anything that satisfies you..reaching what you have been hoping for...i guess, you will be happy if you get what you hope for..like, you wish to pass the bar exam, then, when you pass finally, then you are happy...
mine, little things can already make me happy,i am happy when i see my kids waiting for me at home, when they kissed and hugged me as they welcome me home...many more to mention...

If the other person is the key to your happiness, you are dependent on him for your happiness. Without him you cannot be happy. He has the key, and a person who has the key of your happiness is your jailer. He can make you happy or unhappy.
If you are the source of your own happiness and the other is the source of his own happiness, you can share your happiness. Your happiness is original, not borrowed, not dependent. You hold the key to your own happiness.
I am also saying that through things happiness is not possible. Through things only things are possible. If you have money, you can have many more things, but happiness is not possible.
I am not saying to renounce, I am saying simply disconnect this idea of having happiness from things. Disconnect it from without; reconnect it with within.
And don't confuse pleasure with happiness. Pleasure is a positively sought thing; happiness is negative. It is not the presence of anything, it is the absence of something -- the absence of suffering. Don't choose pleasure, and suffering will be discarded automatically. And when there is neither pleasure nor suffering, there is happiness and bliss. From the outside it looks negative -- it is an absence -- but from the inside it is a positive thing. Happiness is your nature. It is also a choice -- everything is your choice. If you don't choose pleasure then you have chosen happiness.
