I can tell you I love Chinese food a lot. I am a 100% Chinese, I can cook Chinese food but somehow there are some certain food sthat you won't or not be able to make at home so eating at Chinese restaurant is always an option to me still.
There are some certain dishes that I always want everytime when I go to a Chinese restaurant and end up ordering the same thing and not get to try the other dishes... I told myself to order a new thing this next time but still...
When it comes to Chinese food, I prefer a regular Chinese restaurant instead of Chinese buffet style, at least where I live, quality of the Chinese buffet is always not so good...
So do you like Chinese food? What dishes that you must / you always want to order when you eat at Chinese restaurant? I always like Crab ragoon and Chow fun(flat noodle)!

Oh do I ever love my chinese food. I enjoy dishes such as Broccoli Beef, General Tao's Chicken, Crab Rangoon, etc. Where I live we do have a couple of really nice buffets inwhich the food is always magnificant. I also make some of my chinese dinners at home after I found a recipe for fried rice as that is my preference over steamed.

General Gao's chicken is one of my favorites! I am not sure if it is different from General Tao's, I think it is the same, but it is called General Gao's around here. I think tomorrow I am going to have to go to an all you can eat chinese buffet. This topic is making me hungry!

Hi ivy, I didn't realise you were Chinese even with your last avatar. Well I love Chinese food more than any other, especially baskets of dim sum with hot chilli oil. Sadly the one restaurant up in town an hour away that is Chinese hasn't got a clue how to cook Chinese food and the only Chinese food Greek people seem to have heard of is egg fried rice. So I have to live without it and I'm not that good at cooking it either, plus the ingredients are really hard to get here in Greece.
I mainly have to settle for cooking Thai food instead but I so miss Chinese food. I have the perfect dim sum meal picked out in my mind ready for the opportunity to have it again, but for now, life without dim sum.

Oh you thought I was white? but I have a yellow face :-p hehe
I love dim sum, it is one of my favourites :-p I pretty much like all kinds of them, I can get it where I live once in a while because it is an hour away, if we don't have reasons to go there, we won't. Can you get them in a store? like the frozen one at least?

Yea, somebody has commented on me before, I guess it is because I get suntan in the summer and my yellow face becomes a brown face :-p
The frozen dim sum here is okay, at least it is something right? Definitely not as good as the one at the restaurant but it stops the itch sometimes :-)
Thank you for responding to my discussions always !!!

Hi Ivy, I actually thouht your background might be from some exotic south American country!
No frozen dim sum either I'm afraid, I used to buy that from a Chinese supermarket in England, they had a really good selection of fish balls and frozen pork dumplings.

i enjoy chinese food as well although i'm not a chinese myself. my cooking sucks so it's understandable that i don't know how to cook the easiest chinese recipes. i usually go to hawker centres and buy from there though. i've been to chinese restaurants only once in my life hehehe that too when i met up with some ex-schoolmates of mine. the ambience there was amazing and the food was good too. but of course, being a restaurant, it was expensive as well hehehe my wallet hurt that day.

I enjoy Chinese food as well. I usually get some kind of Lo Mein or Orange Chicken dish. Crab Wontons are pretty good too.
Honestly, though, YOU should me telling ME what to try at a Chinese restaurant lol! Do you find that American Chinese food is really different than traditional Chinese food that you would find if you actually visit China?

To be honest with you, American Chinese food is , it is very different from what I could get in my home country. However, there are like 1-2 that I know where I live is close to what I want. THe best one so far that I have ever eaten is at the casino, my friend told me that because real Chinese people work at the casino so they probably have Chinese cook.

Me too don't like American or other western country Chinese food. The taste is so much different even the dishes are the same. I prefer to have local Chinese food. There were some times I have Dim Sum cuisine in some western country. I saw kinda dissapointed with the food served.

I am half-Chinese, as my mom is Chinese, I like Chinese food a lot also. Many Chinese dishes I can make, but a couple I can't make it as good as the restaurants do, so I try to eat out sometimes. The dishes I like are dumplings with pork inside and crab.

Hello,
I can see you are really 100% chinese... I am mix, half chinese, and half Cambodian. Most of people, when they see me they thought im Vietnamese or something but I can't speak neither chinese or vietnames... sorry... but just dont know how.
I live close to Vietnamese, korean, and chinese a lot and there are many many restaurant that I can try out. I love chinese food, of course... and I do like buffet over here, they make really good and the price is cheap too.
The most thing that I love to order are: beansprout with garlic, house special lobster. House special Soup(on this dish, it is depend on where you are going... some have chicken and mix with other vegi... and some has just seafood)
I love to try new thing, so I dont have to end up with same old same old food that I eat... plus I eat out then i want to try something that I never eat before. If I dont like it, then I dont like it then I will skip it next time. My cousins love chinese food... they always ask for my advice where to go and what to eat, so I am the first person who try the food and they are the people who will follow. hahhahaha ...

Yes I love chinese food! I am in no way chinese though. Unlike you I really like chinese buffets over menu style chinese resteraunts. Well I don't really know the names of the things I order, I know I like almost all of the things there are. My favorite include: chinese rice, eggrolls, sweet and sour chicken, this beef and vegetable thing, and this crust with sour cream type things in side.lol. Sorry some of these things I just have to describe rather then telling you the names.

I like Chinese food my favorite is eggrolls with shrimp. When we go to a Chinese restaurant I will order the eggrolls and duck and rice or sweet and sour chicken. I do not mind Chinese buffets but because they usually have eggrolls on them.

I really enjoy Chinese food. We have tons of little Chinese restaurants, that I call Chinese fast food by where I live. I know they are not great for you. Since I work in NY, I do get to go to Chinatown. There we have some real Chinese food and it is truly delicious. Also, I'm Portuguese, and in Portugal I found a great Chinese food place. Everything is so fresh. I think the owners may come from Macau, which used to be a Portuguese colony.
I love Sweet and Sour pork and chicken, dim sum and dumplings and Chow Fun.
My best friend is Chinese. I really wish she would make more Chinese food. She does cook great Italian food, though. LOL.

American Chinese food is very different from real Chinese food, I have only found the very nice Chinese food in FOXWOOD( casino in CT which you probably knew) so far because I don't go to Chinatown in Boston or NY so much so I don't know the Chinese restaurant there.

I love going to chinese buffets. That way I can try different foods. My favorite dish is Sesame chicken. I like General Tso's chicken too. I tired making chinese at home, but it never tastes as good as from a restaurant.

I love Chinese food! we dont eat out at restaurants very often, but when we do and its my choice i always choose this little bitty family run place on the other side of town called Yum Yum! not only is the food great, its decently priced and if you order it as take out the portions are enormous! we ALWAYS end up with left overs for at least another 2 meals it seems!
we end up doing the "everybody chooses something" and we all get to eat from whatever catches our fancy. fun that way and it is the only way i usually get to try something new, because much like you i always end up ordering my favorites and never something ive never had before.
my favorites..that get ordered no matter what (LOL!) are Imperial Chow Mein..the soft noodle chowmein with pork, shrimp and chicken in it.
Beef with Broccoli! and Sweet and Sour chicken! so everytime everybody knows those 3 will be the main dishes with whatever anybody else chooses and "something new"
i do really like Mongolian beef..although im not really sure that counts as Chinese? but they have it at the restaurant..tangerine chicken is VERY good, but ive only eaten it twice and the place was out of state so thats a bummer.
the last 2 times we've ordered chinese food ive seriously been thinking about the Pineapple Beef..it sounds so good!

I love chinese food! I actually really like buffet style chinese food, probably because there is one RIGHT next door to my house. Everytime I walk outside all I want is chicken fingers and lo mien! I really love chinese food.
In fact, I think I have some lo mien in the fridge. Maybe I will heat that up!

I have a little trace of Chinese blood but i do love their food so much. I become more interested in Chinese cuisine and culture when I met my fiance because he is seventy-five percent Chinese. Chinese cuisine has been adopted to suit local palate. Their food is irresistible, palatable and healthy. Yum!
