When i was answering discussions today, i noticed that i had 2 alerts from mylot..When i read them it was saying that they needed us to make sure we put the subject on the subject line, that way it would be under the right discussion...I always tag my discussions, i always put the same thing that the person put on the subject line when i answer a discussion...Did everyone get this alert? or just me?...they were saying if we did not tag each discussion that we replied too, that we could be terminated...So did you get that alert too..Thanks

Hi there!
I have received the mylot alert too. One was about the mylot banners and yes the tagging of discussions. Everyone receives mylot alerts when the staff needs to announce or impart something important to the members.
You are right about the tag alert. I always put tags on my posts ever since I joined mylot. It is one of the requirements here for the members. We need to tag our posts so every posts can be grouped or categorized to their specific interests. But lately, I have seen a lot of posts without tags. Without the tags, discussions will be disorganized so let's tag the discussions!
Ciao!

You didn't received a mylot alert? Hmm.. Well that's weird. I thought everyone will receive the message every time there's a mylot alert.
Maybe mylot has just chosen users to send the alerts. But I think that will be unfair for not informing everyone of an important message. Don't you think?

Yes I got that alert too.In fact I just wanted to raise this discussion myself.I always tag my discussions and don't do that much while responding to other's discussions as I think that it is their property and hesitate to trespass into it by putting my own tags.Well if Mylot insists I do not have any problem in tagging them too left right and center.

I think everyone got the alert. I got a little concerned if I did something wrong with my tagging too but I think its just a warning for everyone. I have seen some inappropriate tagging floating around although not often. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Yesterday i've received these 2 alerts from my lot. But when i remembered, i always put my tag in every discussion, maybe these alerts sent to remain again for all mylot members to use tag in any discussion.

I received two alerts yesterday and one of them said that I should make tags correctly because I often skip it. I think it doesn't matter and next time I will make tags carefully.

I got the alert too. It didn't say if we didn't tag we would be terminated, the alert said you could be terminated if when you did tag you didn't tag properly. I think it was more for the trolls and those that were tagging inappropriately. I hardly ever tag and I am not worried about it. The alert was for people who abused mylot, not for people like us who enjoy mylot and treat people with respect.

I didn't read it in detail, I just skimmed through it. It is ridiculous that they have made tagging mandatory. I think it is the responsibility of the discussion initiator to tag and he or she will be the best person to do it as well, there are no two ways about it. But now we have no choice, I'll start tagging.

As I remember it, and pointed out in one of the above replies, tagging is not mandatory. What is of concern is the use of inappropriate tags. Tagging helps to among other thngs, categorize or classify the discussion. It also makes it easier for other people to search for similar or already started topics.

I was giving this alert too on the tagging part.. however I think if you read it carefully, it means to ask us to tag actively in order to ensure that there is a proper way doing it. I think it's meant for good as then we know the importance of MyLot tag.
And for the part where the account could be terminated, it meant for those who do not tag appropriately and do not get the right tag. It's not that they will terminate our account for not tagging. I think MyLot admin can be very strict but not as unreasonable as it is.
There is no rules in MyLot that says we must tag anyway... but they appreciate our assistance in tagging discussion so that it can be categorise accordingly. Happy MyLotting

Same. I also got two alerts. Now, I put the tags every time after I responded a discussion. I don't want my account to be terminated.

No need to worry. All members were notified with the 2 alert messages so that everyone is aware of the policies and no member would cheat their way through.
