How many pillow do you use when you sleep? Fat or plat pillow?
I use 2 pillow, one big and one small, for my neck, even when i was kid i use same pillows, so, is hard to use other pillow now.
What do you think, is more healthy for your back to sleep withaut pillow or is more comfortable with pillows?

Hello!Icesmile, I don't think so that it is good habbit, as I have the knowledge, if you use more than one pillow for your neck you may suffer from survical pains that is not healthy for you, to be very frank I am also habbitual to take pillow while sleeping but only one and it is neithe big nor small, just medium, If we are habbitual for this from childhood, then it is not possible to leave this bad habbit but there is some limitations for every thing in the world and we should not cross that as it is said also that every thing in access is bad.

i do sleep with pillows because i am never comfortable without it. i like a just the right size kind of pillow on my head (because if it is big, i will have a stiff neck the next day), and 2 pillows under my knees while i lay flat on the mattress, and sometimes a pillow which i hug.

I've heard that it's better to sleep without pillows, but it hurts my back and neck something awful if I don't use them. I use two pillows, and they're usually pretty plump, but they're flattened out now, which doesn't help my neck out any. I was them every so often to fatten them back up. It helps for a little while. I can't afford to keep replacing them, so washing them helps enough I can get by for another month or so. I've used two pillow as long as I can remember, and if I don't have one very fat one or two average to fat size, then I pay for it with a sore neck and back.

yeah i heard of this too. no pillow is healthy. but i don't know if i agree, i mean if a person is sleeping side-ways, then their heads are really uncomfortable, half against their shoulders and half against the bed. that doesn't look too healthy. those who sleep side ways a pillow is good, but those who sleep on their backs, without pillow may be a good thing. I notice when sleeping on your back with a pillow, you'll get lines around your neck, for ladies that's rather unattractive.

I have ever read that for baby is better to sleep without pillow, buat for the adult i don't know exactly which is better, with pillow or without pillow. I think without pillow is better but if we sleep on the flat matras or bed. Cause it can straight our back bone. But this is just my opinion, i don't know based on medical. Every day i use one big pillow.

Sleeping without a pillow makes me feel naked and gives me an uncomfortable crick in my neck.
So I don't think it's healthy.
I also get nightmares without my pillow, sometimes. =P.

Good thing or not I cant sleep without pillows at all! It would suit me best if I could have four pillows while sleeping LOL. It’s a childhood habit really to have one pillow, two on both sides and one below my feet…nowadays however I fight for pillows with my son and he wins of course so I make do with two pillows max.

I have never heard of this behing healthier before. If it is so healthy, then why are pillows so popular? I could not imagine sleeping without a pillow. I would be way too uncomfortable if I didn't have a pillow to sleep on. In fact, I sleep on about four pillows.

Dear friend,
When ever I feel back pain I do avoid pillows and at times I would even avoid beds and would like to sleep on the wooden coats with pillows. But if I do have any sort of unhealthy like fever, cold etc I would use bed and pillows.

I basically use a pillow which is a bit hard and flat. And it has been great till now. The other day I bought a softer pillow and I woke up having a serious headache. So I reverted back to old one. Sometimes when I feel that my neck will start straining, I get rid of the hard one as well and sleep without using any pillow. Once I fall asleep, I wont even realise I don't have until the next morning.

Hello!!!
I could never sleep without a pillow . Having one helps me fall asleep and I like the soft kind (think with feathers lol) Not sure what is inside of mine they were a gift, but sometimes I see little feathers popping out. I like to sleep with 2 and then hold a smaller one . I cant see how people could sleep without one . HMM!
Anyway! Happy weekend

We all think that sleeping with pillows is the right way to sleep- however, sleeping without a pillow, your whole body flat on the mattress is the best way to sleep. Your posture is straightened out. If you sleep with a pillow, your neck can be bent at a weird angle, causing neck pain. Although the common perception of a pillow is to reduce the pain and comfort the neck, it can have the complete opposite effects..
I've always used neither flat or fat pillows, since I'm a back sleeper. It feels weird switching. Usually low pillows are best for stomach sleepers, medium height is good for back sleepers, and high (fat) pillows are best for side sleepers as the give the neck support.

You said that you was a back sleeper! I bet that you don't have any stomach problems either. The reason I say this is because I read somewhere that if you lay on your sides that it causes the stomach acids to start rising. In return you get heartburn and upset stomach. I have tried this and Im not having that much problems anyone. Thumb up for the back sleepers.

I use 2 pillows when I sleep. And even if according to scientific experts, elevating the pillows will promote good blood circulation, sometimes, I just feel that I have orthostatic hypotension (lowered blood pressure upon waking up or a change in position) when I wake up.
Hence, I think it depends upon the body. You may try to compare your own experiences as to learn what works best for you.

hi icesmile, i sleep without a pillow but for me it is necessary because i am having spondylysis. i cant take anything under my head. thats is a problem with me. it is good ffor the health that is also true. but health is already bad in that case, lol. so i cant take. i take a pillow just in case i wanna cuddle, thats it, otherwise never under my head. when i was a kid from that age i am suffering from this and so now i am in a hbbit of not taking any pillow.

i think pillow will be good for those people who are suffering from spinal problems, because the use of pillow makes the spine in line and prevents it from dis alignment

Hi Icesmile. Hm, I don't know if it is healthier sleeping with no pillow, but I have to have two or three, the top one very soft and squishy for comfort. I've done that for many years and it is how I sleep with the most comfort

I have always slept with two pillows as i have to have my head higher than the rest of my body as i panic as it feels like i can not breathe.I do not think that there is anything to suggest that however many pillows you have make any difference to anyones health.

Honestly, when I went to the Chiropractor, they never told me it was healthier to sleep without one, and it definitely wasn't healthier sleeping WITH one lol. They actually make special pillows with a little dip in the middle for your head so that it supports your neck correctly when you sleep. I had purchased one a few years ago and it was definitely hard to get used to because it wasn't normal like the soft fluffy pillows we are all used to lol. These days, I always sleep with a big fluffy pillow under my head, and a body pillow next to me so I can lay all over it haha, it's what I've always done since I was a kid :P

It is never healthy to not use a pillow when lying on your back. The main purpose of the pillow is to adjust to the contour of our neck. The notion of sleeping without it to keep our back straight is wrong. We all need a pillow to support the curve of our neck. As for the elevation of the head, this allows our airways to remain open. A flexed head prevents snoring. When we don't have a pillow, our heads are in an extended position. Most of us think this is good but in reality, this predisposes us to snoring.
But if you are using two or more pillows to support your head, I would advice that you visit your doctor about it. You may have respiratory difficulty that you don't know of.
