After 7 years of working in call centers I have decided to finally set my brain free and lose weight, relieve myself from stress and head-ache. call centers are all stressful and bad for your health. you are expected to sit there all day talking and that isn`t helping your body. Accounting jobs and retention jobs at call centers are so unfair to everyone, goals can be unrealistic and constant threats to terminate employment and using scare tactics to try and obtain the companies desired results is simply abuse. good-bye call centers!

I did give up working in the call center because of dehumanizing reasons like when I attended a training in a call center here in the Philippines. The training was okay at first, but a few days before we actually are officially hired, I found out that we do not have permanent seats. You go on a bio break, get your headset from the station, and before you know, your seat is already taken by another agent. Then we have a 15 minute break which is what I consider an impossible break. Our office is at the top tower, smoking area is like 11 floors below, and when you come back. you still have look for a seat again. You can't expect to be back in 15 minutes at the station if that is the scenario they have. No way, Jose, I will not go back to a cal center even if they will pay 1,000,000 dollars as salary. I rest my case!

Yes ... I Do Agree On your Comments of Call Centers Being Stressful .. The Managers Really Squeeze Your B--- .. I Think Even I Left it for good .. Unless You Are good to the top Management, Your Growth is Curtailed ..

hi johanna.
seems like you really had enough of call centers. well, i've recently been employed by one. i'm going into my eight month but i'll be leaving soon since it was never my intention to work in a call center. the experience is an eye-opener and i think the call center industry is all hype. no offense meant to those who found success in call centers. i'm happy for you guys but call center work is not for everyone.
i'm just glad i made it in one piece and i'm leaving it with new found appreciation of the work i have now. good lcuk in your new endeavor johanna.
cheers!!!!

Call Centers can be good jobs depending on what type of service your providing. I love inbound customer service with a reputable company. Some call centers also have a team that replies to emails from customers and that can be a lot less stressful. Get plenty of exercise if your call center job is stressful right now.
