Coming to a Head

Do you have a sense that events are coming to a head in the world? I am not sure. It feels that way. We hear of wars, rumors of wars, famines, droughts, and kidnapped tots across the state.
*
We are certainly hearing about much more than we have ever heard about in the past with the up-to-the-minute in-your-face media blasting in eyes and ears via especially the Internet giving updates every few minutes where in the past you were lucky if you got daily updates via the radio or the newspaper.
*
In many households sixty years ago, televisions didn't grace the living room. When I was young, (I'm dating myself, I was a child of the 1970's) there was a solitary, lonesome television the family shared. News didn't penetrate unless it was very local or very personal.
*
Are the today end times real or are they a modern day media illusion?

i often tell people, if we all look and see what's going on all around the world. and how most people are it's sad. you got people killing other for stuipd reasons, one is because they are different and have different belife.
and i think the lord will get upset at all of us and wipe us out and start all over again. we all need to have more respect for one another, no matter what you belive in or what color our skin is. no matter if you are gay or straight.
but family doing family wrong, people hurting kids, it's sad that there is so much lack of respect and love for one another.

Respect is utmost, for each other, for other life forms, and for the earth on which we reside.

I beleive it has always been their.
But because of the media, it is more up to date.
Causing people to loose hope in a better future.
Because they only publish the bad and sad and they hardly ever talk about success and happiness.
This means that the negative force of life comes in the house daily. If you are sensitive of this, you will be depressed before you know it.
This is why I don't always look at the news.
Sometimes I just can't tolerate any more bad news.
I too sometimes lose hope.

Yes indeed. And by seeing all these things, some people get bad ideas.
"Oh, it is normal to fight? Let's go ahead, maybe we can make the news?"
Like with the talk about black boys beating a white or the other way around.
What does it matter what colour they have? fighting is fighting.
This brings people back to discrimination, with yet another reason more to start fighting. So, they think.
Have a nice day.

i also agree with you on this, the press will toss up something negtive on the news before something good that had happen.
i think the press often make things worst instead better. just like that one thing about the black boys that beated that white kid up because of something. oh it was jasper 6. to me the press made it so much worst. instead seeking for blame and want to do this or that. why not look for ways to make sure things like never happen again. people make too many excuses for negtive things that happens.

I dont think the events are coming to a head. The world will withstand all the small wars as well as famines, droughts ( as a matter of fact, this year my country, India is going to be drought hit as per the scientists theory),etc.
It is only when any nuclear armed countries go to a war against each other, you can be sure that the world is coming to a head.

Let us hope some fool does not push the nuclear button. Even nuclear 'accidents' are catastrophic.

I don't think the events are coming to a head in the world, but the world is becomong smaller, the small here just refers to the information.
But I like it as it saves me a lot of time, and makes the world full of hope.

That is very true. Information is traveling faster than at any other time in Human history, including Chicken Little fears.

Indeed, until you have to face that ring-around-the-bathtub. That is pretty hairy...

It is sad to say, but horrific things have happened throughout history. In the Spanish Inquisition alone between 3 and 5 thousand people were executed for no good reason at all, but it was not on tv for everyone in the world to see. I do not think the current events are indicative of the end of times. They may be indicative of the fact that the weather is unpredictable, people are imperfect, and that there has never been a time when there was worldwide peace. But, we can watch it all happen from the comfort of our homes now, if we choose to do so.

We could be suffering from 'foghorn blowout blues' from too much loud information from too many sources hitting us too rapidly. Well, welcome to the Internet, buy a filter, cuz the noise will only get louder!
