Can you talk in a conversation with people while you still can drive safely? I know some of the people cannot concentrate if they talk when they are driving. Are you those kind of people?
My partner is a good driver, he is safe all the time, he can talk, sing, dance(not dance dance but hand clapping, butt wiggling :-p and stuff) when he is driving. I don't know about me though because I haven't got a driving license yet, we'll see ;-)
What about you? Can you share with us what kind of drivers you are?

I can quite easily hold a conversation or sing along to music when driving, infact i dont like driving in silence, i need some "company" in the car. My partner however sometimes finds it hard to listen to music thats too loud because it can distract him from concentrating on the road.

Hi Ivy, I can talk whilst I drive but never look at the person, I keep my eyes on the road. I hate driving in the dark so tell my son in the back seat to be totally quiet so I can concentrate more. Yesterday though he was over tired and in a whiny mood in the back during the day and it irritated me so much I drove for ten minutes to far up the road without even realising it as I was so distracted, and had to turn round and retrace my way. The distracting conversations I can do without, in fact I don't think I've ever done that before.

I never talk on a mobile phone whilst i am driving, but if i have the children in the car i always talk to them as i do not want them falling asleep if i am out in the evening until they go to their beds.If i am with a friend we will always talk on the way to or from a place whilst i am driving.I can concerntrate easily talking to someone or even singing to music whilst driving.I do never take my hands off the steering wheel neither do i dance while driving nore swerve about in the car.Happy Mylotting.

I have this special talent for multi-tasking. I can study while I watch TV, read books while listening to music, and even talk while driving!

Yes, I have been driving now for over 40 year's and I have been talking to my family member's during all of my drive's. There is nothing at all wrong with talking and driving, it's just that most younger people watch the kid's in the back seat or in the passenger seat when talking.

Yes I can drive at the same time a can talk if theres need to talk, and of course in a heavy traffic we need to have some sharing to forget the traffic so share some stories about life and others, sometimes listen only to the music or sing witht he music.

Most of the time, I can hold a conversation while I am driving. i am not one that always has to look at a person when I am talking to them, even though it is more respectful in my opinion. If traffic is busy, I do tend to keep a lot quieter in the car. One thing that really does distract me is when my kids are being rowdy.

It hink it is fine to not look at the person when you talk while driving becayse we still have to look at the road.

Hi mermaid...I can and often do talk while I'm driving. Most of the time it's just my son and I in the car so I'm talking to him about what we're passing - he loves to look out the window - and sometimes I'm singing to him especially in the morning. When I'm in the car with another adult we talk all the time. I used to know some people who were extremely nervous about talking while driving and had to have complete silence in the car - It's just not for me.

Well, anyone can drive while having a conversation. However, the safety issue is a factor if you are one of those people who cannot do more than one thing at a time. I cannot nor will I talk to people who are talking to me from their cellphones. I don't want to be responsible for an accident. I may have a short conversation with someone who is riding in the car with me, but my focus is more on the traffic. Drivers who talk on their cellphones while I am in their cars makes me very nerve and I become a backseat driver, if you will. A couple of times I have stopped a driver from running a red light. In my opinion, driving and holding a conversation is just about as bad as driving drunk.

I talk a lot while I am driving, but I make sure to keep the conversation shorter than normal, and I turn the radio off so that I can concentrate on the road. I actually feel guilty at times, knowing some people cannot multi task and end up hurting someone in an accident because of it. I can multi task pretty well while driving, but if I get into a real heated discussion, sometimes I may lose track of time or where I am going lol, that's not good!

I still talk with whomever i take a ride with when I drive, usually my kids. I just have to calm they down when the conversation getting to"excited" and they start to talk at the same time. It's only the cell phone that I personally never want to mess around when I drive.

I think it is "safer" totalk with the person that is with you in the car instead of talking on the phone, is it right?

Hello,
My husband is also a good driver, I never trust anyone for driving me around by him. I can say I am a good driver too but if Im too stress or mad, then my driving will go with my mood... so can't count on me when im mad tho :)
I can talk and sing and clap while driving or on the phone too but it is just a little hard when I word fight with someone that is in the car with me tho

I've been driving for over forty years and I can easily hold a conversation while driving. I think most young people have a problem with it because they have yet to learn how to talk and watch the road at the same time. That and not talking with both hands while they drive

I can do that, hand clapping and butt wiggling . It bothers me a bit when talking to someone because I can't really concentrate. It is okey if the conversation is light but sometimes my boyfriend will ask things like: "How much is this plus that", you know, things that require me to think. I will get a bit angry sometimes when this thing happen and I told him to sit quietly because I have to concentrate on my driving. More especially when driving at night and on the highway.
It is not the same when I am driving alone, I can sing and move my body to the music which I will have blaring in the car. I would say that I am a pretty good driver as I never drove dangerously.
