Has anyone ever made an album of older pictures? A DVD of older pictures?

Help! My brother wants to make an album chronicling my parents' life together as it was just their 40th anniversary. I think this is a wonderful idea but I don't know the first thing about doing something like this - do you? If anyone has any thoughts or ideas I'd love the input!

I made one for my son when he turned 18 . I organised all photographs from the day of his birth and each birthday, all important events like his first school day, participation in school events , his report cards , marksheets , etc and made a dvd with some music and tthen on his birthday showed the same in front of guests on big screen as asurprise to him. He was really moved and so were others who were there to celebrate his growing up . good idea keep it up .

Hi renu...Thanks for sharing - I think that's awesome and your son is quite lucky that you spent such time to make something so special for him and share it with his family and friends. Thank you so much for your response!

A dvd is a great option. You can scan them all in and use Windows Movie Maker (free on most windows computers now a days and very easy to figure out). I actually made a movie for my nephew for his 1st bday where I flashed through his photos growing up and Movie Maker has all these transitions and neat things to make it look really cool. Plus, if you have any video clips, you can intermix them with the photos. An album is nice too, but a dvd is different and something everyone can watch together. 15 min max on that DVD is a good idea though, because if it gets too long people might get bored. Unless you have A LOT of cool stuff to show, in that case, the length is up to you!
