When suddenly your electric at home is out. No TV, no lights, and maybe your computer not working too so no mylotting...what you usually do?
Maybe if it's happen in the afternoon, you might decide just to leave the house and maybe go to the mall or park. Let say it happen at night the mall close, what do you do.
I know I can't sleep when it completely dark. I will light some candle and try to read something or since the cell phone still on, I use the calling card too try to call my family overseas.

Hi ibuemma,
If that happen at the early night, I will go to my friends house or invite the to mine. We light the candles and talk. And hope the electricity will come back soon. But if it is already near to midnight, I just go to my bed. Nothing much we can do.

It has happened a few times at my parents' place at night mostly. What I used to do was I'd turn on the radio in the car and turn up the volume, then I sat in the garden and looked at the sky, count the stars, talk to family members. Of course kerosene lamps and candles would be lit first.

I suppose I am quite lucky as I cannot remember the last time we experienced an electricity cut-out. I think the last time it happened I was like 5 years old or something, and I can remember my mother getting some candles out so we could see, and we had a torch too. I think it quite fun, but I can imagine it is not very fun when it happens regularly.

If its night time I would like a candle and maybe try to read with the light from the candle. Like they use to do back in the day. Or just go to sleep because I love sleeping in complete darkness. If it daytime I would probably go out or hang out in my back yard with a drink and reading.

If the electric is out. First, i think, is to find a candle. If can't i will buy some. No matter that happened in the daytime or night, i will do that first,in case, i haven't the candle, when the light is dark.
Then, if that happened in the summer daytime, i will went to the web-bar or go to the suppermarket. If it happen in the winter, my family will sit together and make a fire to make warm. But as my experience, if it happen on the day, it can't last long. So just wait for a few hours, but it happen in the night, it is likely to be dark the whole night, if so i will choose to sleep early. Having a good day and happy mylot.

This happens to many times when rainy season is here.,so far this year we have just had rain and no big storms, but when we do where i live the electric goes out constantly, which can be irritating, and can be fatal for me.Im on Oxygen and a breathing machine, the oxygen i have mainly is plugged in and takes the air we breath and makes it pure, but when i leave the house i need the tanks,if the electric goes out for too long and my tanks run out im in trouble and would end up in the emergency room for help. But like i said i havent lost my electric yet this year. Also if its just for a short time and i have no worries,me and my son thats 7yrs old would light some candles and play some games,or just go outside and sit on the deck and watch the stars.

that's suck if the mall close also. Sometimes i think the public place like that always open because they also have the back up power. That's what I try to do too, just read. Try to sleep when there are no electric hard for me. suddenly it become too quiet.

Well since i live in South Florida and we get hurricanes here of course, we all know the sounds of the generators and use them to their ability of course to plug in some fans and of course keep the refrigerator running. Its the worst after the hurricane has passed because its hot and muggy outside and at least we have the pool is all i can say, if there was no pool it would be bad as we have been through storm with no pool of course. The longest we went out with electric was 10 days but at least others were getting there electric on and we would be calling to see who had it on in the family and we would all go to the house that had electric so that we could of course take showers and cool off for a while.
When the electric goes out here when a hurricane comes the stores and everyone is out of electric and the electric company tried to store the hospitals up first then the main stores everyone goes to around town to shop and then they worry about the houses that are all out of electric.

OH NO! That would be the first thing that would come out of my mouth. It would be my luck that I was in the middle of writing a discusssion and the electric goes off before I can finish. Then I woul give the electric company a call. Ok now the real stuff starts to happen. I look for something to read. I guess because Im a student in college studying would be the best option for me. I would be able to go to sleep if it was dark. Im too big of a chicken.. Oh mr electric man get my electric back on please...

Luckily, it has been a while since we were last without electricity. But, the last two times of mention when we were without electricity, it was for a week at a time during winter ice storms in our area.
I spent a lot of time during the most recent one reading during the day time. I also used a lot of the daylight time working on some crafts. I just take the time to do things that I don't ordinarily do when there is electricity. Of course, no electricity also means that we have to go out to eat as we are unable to cook and we would go to the movies or something for a chance to get warm as our heat doesn't run when the electricity is out because the blowers can't run.

This has happened to us a few times in the last month as we have had some pretty bad rainy weather. I usually end up running around like crazy trying to work out a way to heat up my daughters food. Then i just play games with my baby daughter for a while to pass the time.

if my house is out of electricity, i'll just get in my car and go out look for friends for coffee or just drive around in downtown look see look see... or drop by at some local hawker stall to enjoy some nice food while waiting for electricity to recover...

i light candles and usually read some or just go about doing whatever I would do with lights. I collect candles so light really isn't an issue. I don't mind losing power. I do miss getting on here but it's ok...it only happens once in a while.

The electricity here cuts off every now and then, but thankfully it always happens during the day time and for short times only. I just play games on the laptop until the battery runs out and then if there's still no electricity, all I can do is wait, lol.

Well, normally if the lights had gone out here is because there was a thunderstorm here or some type of storm. And so when that happens if there is any battery juice left in my phone I will either txt my friend on the phone or I do all my mylotting on my phone and I will hop on mylot. But if my phone is dying and there isn't much battery juice on my phone I would normally save it just in case I am going to get a phone call of some sort and then I would light some candles if it is dark and read a little like a magazine. Or I'll look outside and watch the storm pass. Or sometimes, because I have 2 cats and I'll sit and play with them and they're toys on the floor. Or I'll just take a nap or turn in for the day. That's about it.

Thankfully in our area we do not have elctric cut outs frequently but by chance if it happens we all come out in our balcony where we have a swing so we sit there and swing so we do not feel hot and then talk with our neighbours because everybody comes out when there is no electricity. When i was small i liked electric cut outs as we all use to play even at night as it is impoossible to stay in the house.

No electricity. Well, first of all, light a candle. Then i will turn on the radio (the radio which run by battery)..then chat with my family. Of course, i will play with my lovely dogs. They will bring me a lot of fun and laughter. Actually, while electricity gives people convience,it also has some harmful influence. The traditonal ways of communication are lost. And the time we spend chatting with our family is little. SO i think sometimes no electricity is a good thing. The time of no electricity, the time for family. Hehe~~ Make the best use of this great time. :)
