A lot of the time people will compliment someone's looks. But of course, you can also compliment someone on their intelligence, their wit, their talent, their style, their knowledge, their ethics, their bravery- any number of things. So what kind of compliment are you most flattered by? What would you most like to be complimented on? For me, being complimented on my intellect would be most flattering and meaningful. So how about you?

To be complemented on my kindness is nice...
I would like to be complemented on my voice, my writing, my counseling skills, etc. would also be nice.

A colleague recently said I was " a bit alternative" - which i took as a compliment. I was flattered when someone else said they'd been watching me as I'd dealt with an older lady and that I'd been "so kind and patient" but I think the best is having people look interested when you talk to them. They dont have to say it because you can see it in their eyes/expression - it means more that way because you can tell its genuine and not just empty flattery.

Because I always try to lose weight, so if some one told me I’m slim or you lost weight, I will feel very happy. Although I know sometimes it was not true or just a polite compliment I still accept and feel very pleased with it.
I also like people say I’m clever and intelligent too. Even I know I’m not so clever as they said.

I was very surprised and pleased the other day when a woman I have known for a few months turned to me and said, "I like your integrity and honesty, but most of all I like that you have a wonderful soul." I don't know how she could know that, maybe by my actions I suppose, but I was still very pleased with her words.

I feel flattered when someone praises my work :) I am a perfectionist and always hope to get some compliment for the work which I have put so much effort on.

I love it when people compliment me about my talent. I play a lot of sports and that is how I meet a lot of new people. So many sport teams, I'm bound to meet everyone. I work really hard on sports I'm very dedicated to. I would have the will to avoid the junks and go work out. I would work hard at sports like basketball, stay in the gym for hours and work on my jumpshot. My hard work has paid off and all my friends could see me play. Oh, you are so good, you make every shot. I know they mean it because I work really hard and it is great to complimented after some difficult work out. I also adore the honest comments about me. I don't like it when people lie to me and pretend that i'm handsome, or that I'm really good because they are really just jealous hahah.

The best compliment is when you have strive hard and at the end of the road you are appreciated for your success. And of course the best people to hear from those compliments are your family because you share the same pain or happiness, whatever situation you maybe in life.
