I love to go to dollar stores to see what I can find. They are a great place to buy gift bags and small gifts. I have found quite a few treasures that sure didn't look like they were just a dollar. One of the dollar stores nearby had great children's books and beautiful journals, and I always find nice pots for my plants there. What do you like best about dollar stores, besides the price of course?

I love to go to one that's near me. They always have a lot interesting items, and a lot of seasonal items as well. Last year I was able to pick up glass Christmas trees with glass ornaments which were about 5 inches high. I was able to give one to each of my co-workers and they were very pleased. You never know what you are going to find!

Ornaments are very popular in dollar stores in Trinidad.
They are made in China, most of them, and are quite pretty.
I do like an attractive ornament.

I really like going to dollar stores they have a much wider variety of items to chose from then they did when they first opened their doors several years ago. And a lot more brand name items too like Crest,Suave,White Rain,Hunts,Delmonte ect... you can surely get more bang for you buck when you go to a dollar store. School is about to start and they have a nice variety of back to school supplies I also get my crossword puzzle books from there as well as cleaning products... in short I buy just about everything I would get from a Walmart or Target. So I usually stop at the dollr store before I go to Walmart but of course the dollar store is limited on the size and quanity but thats ok its a good place to be able to go to if money is a little tight and you need some items to carry you over till your next pay check.

I like to go to Dollar General to get things like paper towels and laundry detergent. There's always other odds and ends I pick up too. It leaves that much less that I have to pick up at the grocery store when we go grocery shopping. We only go grocery shopping every 2 weeks, so the cart get pretty full and heavy fast.

There are some things I go straight to the dollar store to get when I know I'll need them. Gift sacks, like you mentioned. But also Christmas ornaments, and kitchen utensils! I don't need my kitchen utensils to be anything special, I just need them to actually work. So I get things like spatulas at a place like The Dollar Tree. I also got a really handy year planner there once. It was somewhat compact, but was really detailed in what I could include in my organizing.

I like going to the dollar tree all the time to check out what they have. I buy stuff from them often. I love their scrapbooking section and everytime I pass it it reminds me I need to work on my girls scrapbooks lol. One day I will start up again. They do have some good teaching things that I used for my oldest daughter when she turned 3 I started teaching her things she would learn in school. I also like their cards since they are only .50 people just throw them away most of the time anyway. I also check their food section b/c for the longest time they had olive oil and boy do I wish I would of stocked up for only $1. I could of bought 9 bottles for the amount it cost for 1.

I love shopping at dollar stores too. Sometimes I don't like the lack of selection that they offer but you get what you pay for. Also, they really come thru in a crunch like when I am really broke but I really need something for the house like detergent or something. Also, i like buying things there that you shouldn't have to pay much for like gift bags and pool toys. Plus the cheap snacks that they have are always good because i can stuff my lunch with goodies for less. I try to visit the Dollar Tree at least once a week.

Well I know you said besides the price, but that's a great part of a dollar store too. As I can get all my cleaning supplies like lysol and windex for so much cheaper then at a department store or other retailer. What I like about the dollar store is all the little things you can find seasonally, that you can't find in other places. They have great summer sets for picnics, plates, pitchers, etc. Winter they have alot of great christmas decorations that you woulndn't find other places either. I also like that they are not huge stores, as the atmosphere is almost more friendly and they are never really crowded like large retail chains can be. We live right near by a dollar store and I'm always walking there to see what's new and to buy things I need for around the house.

I like all of the inexpensive groccery items one can find in dollar stores. Coming up on the end of the month when we don't have a lot of money, it's nice to be able to get some food at a reasonable price. This was a big month because Hubby had some dental work, and I went to a party in Toledo (I live in Ontario Canada) so now we'll be using the dollar stores until we get paid next month.

hello realan,
When the company sent me to work abroad for two years together with my family, the first store that we went was the dollar store. We boughts hangers, rugs and other things that we need in the apartment. Such a good experienced. The price is so affordable and you can really find a lot there.
Now we are back to our country. What we have here is not dollar store but 99 pesos store. They have also a lot of things for sale here but they don't have food.

Dollar stores are nice and i shop there every once in a while, i buy things like candy bars, potatoe chips, soda pop, toothpaste, anything little thing i need so i won't have to go to a big store and fight through crowds. Somtimes i just like to go in a store, buy the things i need and get out of there as quick as i can, and another good thing about dollar stores is, that the line is almost never long, the several times that i've been there, i only remember two or three times when the line was long, but it was only like 4 or 5 people.

I love the dollar stores for the gift bags and party section. They have all of the party decorations, streamers, color coordinated plates, spoons, forks, knives, napkins and such. When my kids were younger and we had the big birthday parties for them that is where I bought all of the decorations, prizes and such. Now I mainly shop for the holiday party decor stuff.

we have a dollar tree store here in my town, and i will admit, even though i work at the grocery store right across the street, i frequent that store a LOT. I have even sent many of our customers over there to locate items that we do not carry (such as doilies, streamers, colored plates and napkins for birthday parties etc.)
I purchase almost all of my paper products there. Toilet paper, paper towels, disposable plates. And some of my cleaning supplies as well. As it is a store that doesn't always have the same things all the time, i like to go every couple of weeks and just browse all the aisle, and see what they hve for new stuff. I particularly like the make up section. If you hit them at the right time of the year, when all the big stores are doing their resets for the season, you can often find lots of perfectly good make-p frompopular brands (cover girl, maybelline etc) that is there and only a dollar now, as it might be a shade that was discontinued, ot they have "revamped" their line and gotten rid of someproducts just to make room for the new and improved stuff (like mascaras with the crazy, creepy looking brushes, when a regular one does just fine for me) There is nothing wrong with these, they aren't out of date, they are just products the company is not going to e carrying anymore. A while back i was browsing, and the dollar tree had a huge selection of the Covergirl long lasting lipsticks, which i have always been a fan of. These normaly sell for almost ten dollars a piece! As an extra bonus to me, they had a bunch of them in the shade that i loved, so i stocked up while they had them!
The problem with this though, comes when you find a product that you absolutley LOVE....but later on you can't find it anywhere else!
There are a few things that i don't buy there any more though, just because the quality doe not meet the standards i need. The first thing that pops into my mind is trashbags. I have never found a decent trashbag @ dollar tree. They are all so thin and flimy and light weight that thy rip when you are trying to lift the bag of garbage from your trashcan, even if you only fill it half full!
I like to throw themed parties occasionaly, and this is ALWAYS the first place i stop for supplies. Everyhthing from decorations, to plates and cups, to neat, cheap little things to use as prizes and gifts for fun activities.

I love going to the dollar store they are much better at what they offer than they used to be when they first opened their doors some years ago. You can get so many things there and what I really like is that you can get a lot of brand name items like Crest ,Suave, White Rain, ect..I can easily spend 30-40 dollars at the dollar store. We have a lot of dollar stores in my area some are beter than others and there are some dollar stores where everything is not a dollar some things are 2-5 dollars but they usually have a sign posted on the building saying $5 and under.
