Have you experienced deja vu?

Have you ever visited a town, a house etc and felt that you have been there before although you know that you haven't? Although many people refuse to talk about such things for fear of being laughed at, more and more people are beginning to discuss such experiences openly. I know that most people have at least heard of this, what are your thoughts? Is it just imagination? Is it something remembered from a dream? What about when a person can describe the inside of a house perfectly without ever being inside? I think it would be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

Well, thanks for opening this topic. There is a guy who often comes on third page. I feel I know him and have spoken to him several times. But throughout my service life, he was never in India, and he is much younger than me, so no chance of us having been together in college! So where did I see him! But it feels nice to see him on that page. He is a surgeon so I guess someday he is going to cut me open and check if my heart, or kidney is working fine. :-) Kidding. But I do feel I know him from somewhere, but I cant recollect how. And from all my social contacts, he is not even in my circle of friends and relatives! So how do I know him? May be I did meet him on one of his visits, and quite forgot about it. I'd like to be that rational. :-)

Hi vandana, Thank you for sharing that experience, I have had the same happen to me and know that there is no way we could have met before.I'm sure that this is far more common than we realize and I believe as more and more people start writing and speaking about it, others will follow. Blessings.

My one most vivid memory of deja vu was when I went on a trip to one of the cities in the northern part of the country, it was my first time to go there. I felt weird when I first saw our hotel, and at the hotel entrance I felt like I've been there before. What was even more strange was when I entered a room, I was already expecting to see an old treasure chest displayed in one corner, and it was right there where I thought I'd see it. I thought it weird but only on the latter part of the trip when I realized I've just experienced deja vu.

Yes, i have. It's very often happen to me. One day my family and i go to another city for holiday. On the way to the inn, i look around from my car. When i admire the beauty of this city, suddenly i felt like ever visit this city before but i'm sure i never. On another moment, when i talking with my friend. After i finish talk my brain just like twisting and notice that i ever do this conversation before with the same person and the same topic. Sometime it make me confused.
My friend says that there's something wrong with the memory storage in my brain where is the past memories mixing with the information that newly input.

I have experienced this a few times in my life. I tend to think when this happens, you are visiting a place that your astral body has already visited before while you were asleep. The astral body tends to travel while you are dreaming, attached to your physical body by some sort of tether (if this was to be severed, you would die). It travels to different places and different periods of time as well. All the information that your astral body gathers is stored in the subconscious, so you never remember it right off. However, when you visit these places later in your physical body, it triggers the memories of your astral body in your subconscious mind, giving you that feeling of being there before, without physically having been there; in other words, deja vu.

Hello there pose. It is good to be here again. Regarding your experience, I had it many times though; not just on visiting a house but also experiencing something which I felt like it was like a repetition of something that I had it before. I do not know exactly how it happened, but most are from my dreams:)

It happens to me a lot! lol! And it's not really a laughing matter in our culture so we (my friends and I) talk a lot about our deja vu's. Most of the time, I remember it from a dream. Other times, I just find it hard to recall. Like for instance when we moved to a new house, both times I find the faces of our neighbors very familiar. It's like I've already met them. The same is true for places. Many times I felt like I've already been to that place before. Sometimes I try hard to think that maybe I've really been to that certain place when I was a child but most of the times I believe I haven't ;)

Hi veronizm, Thank you for your comment and I don't believe it's a laughing matter either, I find such things very interesting. I too talk about such things with some of my friends, others wouldn't understand. I'm pleased that you decided to share this with with us. Blessings.

it happened to me so many time. the most "memorable" deja vu i remembered is when i was at 7th grade. i got a crush with my classmate. and one day, when we're doing our geographic task together, i felt like i've ever been there before, with him and doing exactly what we do at that time. (and he's as cute as always ^_^)

Sometimes I will have dreams of situations and a month or two later that situation will happen and then I remember the dream. The weirdest thing was when I had a dream and it was about someone I had never met in my life sure enough about a month later same situation and ended up meeting this person. I always thought this was normal I recently found out it is not.

Hi mdp,It sounds like you may have psychic abilities and that isn't a bad thing, in fact it's very good but only if you feel right about it. Of course, it may never develop any further than having prophetic dreams. I have known people to have such dreams, including my father and one of my sons. The word normal only refers to what is accepted in our culture, a better word would be natural and such dreams were accepted more in the past than they are today. There is really nothing weird about this, you may just be more in tune with your higher self then most people. I want to thank you for coming here and adding to this discussion. Blessings.
