I canned tomato juice today.

Today, I canned by myself for the first time. Actually, my husband helped some, but the times I'ves canned, it's alwasy been with my mom and aunt. I put up 12 quarts of tomato juice this afternoon. I'm going to put up more here in a few days. There just wasn't time to do it all at once. I still have some left over from last year, so I don't have to put up a huge amount.
Now, I just need to borrow my mom's hot packer so I can can foods like chili.

Canning tomato juice isn't exactly difficult, once you get the steps down. It's just time consuming, especially if you're doing it by yourself. It's definitely worth it though because then you don't have to worry about stopping at the store to get tomato juice.
I'm going to attempt grape jelly here soon.

I used to do a lot of canning, tomatoes always scared me! But I did them anyway. A friend of mine did some once and gave them away as presents, and my other friend ate some and got tomaine poisoning from them and was parallelized and in the hospital for over 1 tear, I'm sure your aware of the rules for this!
