What is the best Trojan Remover according to you?

Nowadays there are a lot of people that create viruses, trojans, worms, etc. And we (the normal people) have to "Delete" them. But how to do this. Some days ago I was infected by a trojan from the site torrentscan.com (don't go here). Never mind, so I tried to delete it, but nothing helps. I phoned a friend and he comes and because of no opportunity of deleting this trojan, we had to reinstall the Windows. Then, he recommended me the program SuperAntiSpyware. What software do you prefer against viruses. And if you have any experience, what is it? Thank you for all your responses. Have a nice evening

The next time that you find yourself with a Trojan of any sort, I highly recommend the site called TrendMicro. The have a free online scanner that will find and delete any vicious junk on your computer. If they cannot delete it themselves they will give you step by step directions on how to delete the thing yourself

An excellent and reliable site, Fwidman. I would resist all attempts to make one buy their software (or take the 30 day trial), though.
Be aware that it requires a small Java download and install. I don't see a problem with that, personally, because I know that Trend Micro are a reputable company.

TrendMicro, it was good, but when I found SuperAntiSpyware, I understood that this TrendMicro is not very useful. I had used a program Xoft-Spy or something like that, excuse me if I have an error with the name of the software. It was good, but when it updated itself, I thought I will update the definiton file, but I had updated the software and then everything ended for me. It requires serial key and I delete it.

As good anti-virus I suggest you to use the Avast anti virus, and the Kaspersky anti -virus.These two softwares have been much better in tracking viruses and other unwanted blocks.
Avast dosen't slow down your pc performance but Kasper sky can a bit, never mind these are 2 good anit-virus I can opt for you right now.

The only warning I would give here is NEVER use two AV programs at once. All AV programs have a module that runs in the background and monitors what is coming in to your PC. If you have two different AV programs installed/running at once, it is possible to get into an unresolveable loop which can make your PC hang for extended periods.
Always uninstall one Antivirus program before you install another!

I use Adaware, Spybot SD and AVG Free plus Zonealarm Free as a firewall. I see that AVG has been supplanted in the 'charts' by Avira. I'm now thinking of uninstalling AVG (which I've sworn by for six or seven years now) and trying Avira: http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html
The problem with any antivirus program is that it can often come up with 'false positives' ... reports that there are viruses/trojans when there are not. One does need some intelligence and a questioning mature when using them. While many programs are very useful for people who know nothing about computers and viruses (or trojans, adware, spyware and other malware), they are much better and more effective when you have a little knowledge about what these things are and how they work ... and especially about how AV products go about detecting them.

I'd been using AVG for years and recently had a lot of problems with it, so I finally got rid of it, it was like losing an old friend I used it so long! I've switched to Avast and it works great, a little non user friendly at fist but once you figure it out, it's great! tdemex

There is no single Trojan or Virus remover. A good AV program will be able to remove most of them automatically. For those that they can't remove, the first thing to find out is the name of the malware detected. Then you can search for the techniques for removing it. If your regular AV program can't do it, then you are very likely going to have to edit the registry and delete certain files. Most can be successfully removed, though, without having to reformat and reinstall Windows (and all your software)!

I have been a lover of free AVG for years...I got a bad virus in my old computer about 10 years ago & Nortons didn't detect it so I downloaded that & scanned my computer & have been using it ever since. When it detects something, it will remove it into avirus vault & then you can delete it from there.

Maybe now, AVG is a good software, in the past, it wasn't very good. Hey man that is according to me. Some people like one software, the other- other. This is a "hobby", if I can say. Everybody likes different. This is the reason of creating so many softwares, which can remove and permanently delete these infected files.

That is very strangebecause even now if I get a virus (now that I have finally got AVG back on this computer), it will delete them when I empty the virus vault...

Spybot Search and Destroy is a great free program (for removing that crap) I've been using it for years. I run it and update about once a week and it does the job! I run it along with Avast which is an outstanding protector, and is also free! I surf traffic exchanges and they have a lot of Trojans on those sites and It nails them every time! Give them a try and thank me latter! tdemex

You should also use Adaware, Tdemex. It can deal with certain things that Spybot doesn't handle. I imagine, too, that you have a Firewall. Zonealarm has served me well for many years and continues to make me 'invisible' to the sites that check such things.

Spybot Search and Destroy. Yes that is the other program I use now. I scanned with it and it found 11 files, but one of them is a dictionary, so we must check out what is it going to delete. Thank you. Adaware, I would try it now owlwings. I hope it is working, so I can delete everything I don't need.

Hi kircho
I have the Apple macbook, so we don't have any problems with viruses, I do have a dell desk top that I believe has a virus on it as we speak, I am so mad, I need to reinstall windows but when I put the cd in nothing happens, its like the computer is not reading the cd, I have to get someone to do this for me, I was told when I reinstall windows I will lose everything, is this true?
I like Nortons anti virus it always worked well for me, when I let my sister use my desk top my anti virus was out dated

NOTE:
dont use Super Anti Spyware this software is good for spyware and not for viruses or worm.

Just make sure that you use the original software and please don't ever use pirated because it's useless and sometimes it might ruin your pc rather than protecting it from harmful viruses....Read carefully the labels/ literature of the whatever software you are looking for before buying it.

Yes. You are absolutely right, there is no "Best Software". But having my windows reinstalled every month for example, would make me "exhausted". We need to choose one, which best can delete anything useless on our PC. BTW, I permanently agree with you. Good thoughts. But why create these people viruses. I just can't understand this.

I think best anti-virus program available is Kaspersky Internet Security and Symantec Endpoint Security.
I've tried both and still using both in my dual booted system.
I've got Kaspersky in Windows Seven RC and Symantec Endpoint in Windows XP
Also Avira Premium Suite is also good anti-virus application but i really liked the above two..

I have used Avast for years and it never let my system get infected. I have the Vista OS and the firewall has great protection. Everyone complains about Vista being slow but thats because of the good protection built in to Vista. I also run a site checker that examines every site fore funny business in my emails. And it also checks for viruses in my outgoing emails.

Well, I use AVG Free. It has served me well, and served my family well also. It's a very good software and best of all, its free! You can go to cnet or download.com and download it for free. I've been using it for about a year or two and I haven't had a real problem with it and it removes all my virus and trogans. I receommend it if you want a free spyware remover and good luck with it!

No Real Ways to Stop a Strong Virus as it just Infects the hole system before you realize you got a Computer Bug. It just Slows Down the System and Nothing Works
at All. We all just need to not Trust the Bit Torrents and Downloads from Site You
Think are Safe. But the Small Unprotected Sites seem to have Bad Infected Downloads. I got AVG Free and it did Little to Stop the Virus Attack.
