Secrets are NOT meant to be told

There are people who the more they tell to others when you ask not to tell anyone of what you have told them. Better not to relay secrets to people who are not trustworthy or have it remain secrets to yourselves. I also do this sometimes to my children, if what I have told to a daughter would hurt my son, I would advise her not to let him know about it.

I believe that most people "sell" secrets. That is they behave to be good listeners and swear that they will keep their mouth shut for whatever secrets you may have. After they "gain" the secrets of others, they will use those to trade with others. Honestly, I dislike these kind of people because when I tell somebody something, I will assume it to be the secret between the two of us automatically. I definitely won't expect it to be told to others.

I totally agree with you... that secrets are not to be told.. and every time some one tell me that it's a secret and I should not tell anyone else, I just tell them to keep it to themselves then... no point telling me, as I don't know how many more 'don't tell anyone' has she told.. I had an experience of one of this, when this girl once told me a secret that not to be told again to anyone else, however later I found out that the reason she did not want 'me' to tell the 'secret' is because she is the one that wanted to tell everyone instead of being spread... I have no secrets to hide, for me, if I can tell, it's definitely not a secret any more.. and in the event, I have someone helping me to spread the 'news' and not the very original version came back to me, I will then clarify further.. I have been very annoyed of people spreading my story, therefore, I have a blog to write what need to be told.. and those not, it's will be either flush to the throne of waste, or keep in my heart..

secrets are like skeletons in the closet and no one can open the closet except the owner....sounds scary, right? well, i guess everyone has our own secrets..i too have, i cannot tell u too.. so dont ask, ok? anyway, u can tell me yours cos i have a short memory, now i cannot remember what secrets my friends has told me already. My memory is getting worse each day, even my own secrets, i might forget one day...

I m sure many of us have skeletons in the closet...secrets untold and secrets well kept. I too have many, i m not going to tell too..lol..so dont ask me. But u can tell me yours..why? cos i have a very short memory, i dont remember much about what has been revealed to me, so.. your secrets will be safe with me. lol...

No one knows my deepest secrets.Not my Parents(Although i trust them),and certainly not my best friend.He is the biggest gossip I know.I wouldn't trust him with my biggest secrets.And you shouldn't trust yours either.I mean,I'm sure You're the best of friends now.But what if things ever went sour between you two?He'd spill your secrets in a heartbeat.Probably just to get revenge. This is why I will take my deepest secrets to the grave with me.

I don't like to keep secrets, it's too hard to remember what is supposed to be a secret and what's not. I mean I CAN keep a secret if I must but I prefer not too. Like I said, too much work. And in fact, when someone tells me that they have a secret, I tell them I don't care, please don't tell me. And you know what keeps on happening? Those people still want to tell me their secret! It's amazing, people really DO want to tell their secrets!! I am quite honest with people who want to tell me their secret, I tell them, don't tell me, I don't like secrets and I have a hard time keeping them so don't tell me secrets!! I'm not wishy-washy when I say it, I am quite firm and I do mean it, so why do they keep telling me their secrets? I have also told gossipy people not to tell me their gossip, that doesn't work either. I am amazed at some people!!

Yes. A friend has told me a secret. It was someone else secret actually. I promised not to tell anyone but I think he broke our friend's confidentiality when he told me. He said that our friend would not want anyone to know so I must keep quiet but I am also part of that "anyone" I'm sure if our friend had wanted me to know, he would have told me himself. Now I know something about a friend that he didn't want me to know.

There are really some people do it because they feel relieve if they do it. It is sometime important to release that secret just to ease the burden of that person.

The thing is, people like to share something so that somehow it could lessen the burden. Usually secret is something that so burdening and that's why when somebody want to share her or his secret it will be somebody that that person trust, not just anybody. So, when somebody share their secret, it just a common sense for that person to keep the secret. but the person to keep your secret is your won self.

Yeah I agree with you. I always wonder why is it that when I was a kid until I entered college I always want to share a secret and then I tell that person she should never let anyone knew about it. But I came to a point where I just keep things with myself. Reason is it is very hard to trust and I always end up the victim ones a secret is revealed. So the best way to keep a secret is that it should be known by a single person only. It should always be within you alone because it is no longer a secret if two people knows about it. Maybe others will still consider it a secret but between two people. Anyway I always keep something for me. That makes life more wonderful.

i don't tell secrets, because it is secret.. that's why it is called secret, lol..!! but if you want that people or your friends will trust you, of course you need to be good to them and that's for keeping your secrets...

Secrets are NOT meant to be told- this is a nice thought kev. I, too have the same belief when it comes to keeping secrets. When i have one, i make sure that i keep it all to myself cause once you spill the beans, then be ready for the consequences ahead of you. So i myself has secrets that i have never ever ever told to anyone!

ya secrets should not be told to others, but first its we who has to decide whether to share a secret or not but before u share u should be well known about the person with whom u r sharing (he or she should be trust worthy) other wise may misunderstanding may occur. so be careful before u start sharing ur secrets.

everyone has secrets, whether good or bad. nonetheless, the best way to keep a secret is not to tell anyone. everyone makes mistakes, so they can accidently spill your secret to everyone in the world. the less other people know, the better off they are

There are secrets that can be shared and most secrets are to be keep to yourself. I have my own darkest secrets and I keep them to myself for all these years. I don't think others can keep it and I don't think some can take the blow. Secrets are deadly. Regardless of how much you trust a person, keep secrets to yourself. Unless you're prepared to face the consequences, never leak it to even a single soul.

I will have to agree that a secret is exactly what it is. Some people I think don't understand that is what it really is. They get so excited about what you said that they need to be the first person to tell someone else the news. When I told a secret that is what I do with it. Keep it a secret. I have friends who can trust me for this reason.
