You can check http://www.mangaupdates.com You'll see updates for alot of manga and you can also see websites of many people who translate the manga.

There is also http://www.dailymanga.org, which also shows updates for many manga series, as well as showing the scanlating groups. It is for both French and English readers. Out of all the manga update sites I've been to, this one is my favorite.

Here are a few sites I know of: http://www.blubbblubb.net/manga/ - Has a few direct downloads including the Elfen Lied manga. http://www.manganews.net/ - like http://www.mangaupdates.com/ where you find out the latest releases and who scanlates them. http://www.stoptazmo.com/ - Forum site with lots of information. and finally http://fmt-manga.uci.cc - If you into Melty Blood and Fate/Stay Night, my site :)
