Cartoon Movie Question

There was this cartoon movie sometime in the 1980s possibly 1990 even, where a bunch of creatures, maybe they were knomes, I don't think they were though, lived in a forest, (it wasn't david the knome) it was something else, they wore colorful hats and outfits i think. I used to rent it all the time when I was little, and I can't really remember much more than that, but if you can help me with the name of the title it would be so great.

No i have that movie, it's one of my favorites, this is an actual cartoon it's not animatronic or whatever that's called

Labryinth is a terrific movie! It has always been my sister's favorite, and yes, it's part animatronics and part puppeteering, like the Muppets (hence, why it's a Jim Henson film). Oh, the nostalgia! :)

Sad part is, if this was an anime I'd have a much better chance of knowing it straight away.
I have no ideas on what the cartoon your describing is, and in fact someone else had my answer of Gummi Bears. Hmm... well I would say "Underpants Gnomes" but that's 100% completely incorrect.

All this talk about gummi bears is making me miss them and their gummy berry juice, i always wanted to take a swig of that juice :) And it's making me hungry for gummy bears

I don't know if it was broadcasted in the USA but since you know "David the gnome" I think you could know this one as well. I don't remember other similar cartoons from that period.

i agree with care4pets,it sounds like the gummibears,but they were on tv later than 1990 i think,here are some i remember,see if it's one of these

I appreciate the help, but none of that rings a bell, I know most of those cartoons, this was just a one time only deal though, just the one movie they had I think.

All I can think of is an old television show called 'GummiBears'. It was quite popular when I was growing up in the 80's. I watched it all the time as a child. They definitely worn bright colored clothing and the theme song was bubbly and cheerful: "GummiBears bouncing here and there and everywhere"...sorry, don't remember anymore than that...ha, ha...what memories! :-D Hope you find the one you are searching for...good luck!

No i remember that show vividly too, this was just a movie, not a series, I just wish i knew what they were, i can't remember if they were elves or sprites or what they were supposed to be.

I am probably going to be way off with this, but when I read your description of the movie the only thing that came to mind was Smurfs lol! They don't have colourful hats (they all seemed white in the pictures!), and are sky blue, but they do live in a forest and the cartoon series was in the 80s. I don't think there is a movie yet (unless you are from Belgium), but according to wikipedia (I researched before posting here) there will be in 2010 lol

yeah definitely not the smurfs, this was just a movie, maybe even a made for tv by HBO movie I'm really not sure, I just can't seem to remember what kind of creatures they were supposed to be.
