I've recently became interested in reading vampire stories. I guess you could say I've jumped on the bandwagon. But, I'm done with my current series and am ready for a new one. I'm not against reading other fantasy books. I'm just at the moment in need of more interesting vamp stories. Right now my vote is for the Sookie Stackhouse books as the best series. They have it all. What's your take if you've read them and What would you recommend? Tell me a little about you book(s)!! Thanks.

All of Ann Rice's novels are vampire based and she has many different charecters that go into their own series. If you've seen interview w/ a vamp or queen of the damned- those are based on her novels. They really are addicting!

There's lots of great vampire books out there. There's the very popular Twilight, there's My Interview with A Vampire and there's a few R.L. Stine Fear street books that are vampire stories. Good luck with finding your books

I like the genre well enough, it's just that so much of it is repeated, cliche, overdone. the Twilight series was an exception to all that, especially to the vampire ROMANCE fiction section of books of the genre, for me, and I liked it before anyone else had even heard of it..and I probably won't pick the series up again until everyone shushes about it. xD I liked L.J.Smith's Nightworld series better than her Vampire Diaries series, although, it must be admitted that Nightworld isn't strictly about vampires...just has alot of them in it. It was just a very beautifully written series, in my mind. I liked Darren Shan's Cirque Du Freak series, mainly for the fact that of all vampire fiction...it was WEIRD. xD

I'm not really into vampire books, hough I studied Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' as part of my English degree. The book is excellent, and about much more than the vampire aspect. If you've never read it, I'd say go for it.

Well....I have not read them, as yet, but when I get in the mood to read paranormal again, I will check them out. I would recommend the Dark Series by Christine Feehan. She has a different take on the vampire genre and it is kind of unique....I also liked Nora Roberts series that she wrote a while back. It was three books that had something to do with vampires. It was very well done. I also liked Linda Lael Miller's vampire series that she did many years ago. They were very well done. All in all, I would recommend that you read the Dark series. They are immortals who are thought to be vampire because they need human blood to survive. They turn in vampires if they do not find their life mates in a certain amount of time. They are interesting and unique.

So I'm not a huge vampire fan, infact, I'm not really a vampire fan at all. But I actually liked the Twilight serious alot. The movies suck but the books were a pretty good read. :)

I actually read those already, twice in fact. I agree they were good, and the movie could have been so much better. Hopefully they do a better job with the next ones! Thanks
