Hi guess this should be on computers or on mylot but I seem to make so'
darned many typos and so many times evenwith proof reading I manage'to only see them after I hit send response.uggh Does anyone else have this much of a problem? I am honestly a good speller but my typos make it seem like I am poor at spelling. Have you ever felt you had made a really good discussion then to your horror staring at you on the discussion subject line is a big fat error, sometimes something that is utter nonsense?

Lol. Do it all the time. I proof read and catch a few of them but I usually spot them after I hit the send button. I wish we were able to go back and edit them here for stuff like that. Usually I skip the last letter of a word or sometimes miss a whole word. It is because I think a whole lot faster than I type. It is frustrating though when you have an intelligent comment to make and then a typo makes your post come off stupid.

hi Philbo yes I do think faster than I can type and
thus make errors that I dont always see right
away until Ihave already posted the response or
comment.

hi syankee seems we all goof at times so that makes
makes me feel better. And nobody is supposed to make'
fun of us as that is really against mylot rules.

I don't know if I make as many as you do, but I do make them. No matter how many times I proofread my posts, I almost always find at least one mistake after I hit the submit button. It drives me crazy and makes me wish that we had an edit button on here so that we could fix our mistakes. But I know that isn't going to happen. All we can do is be a little more careful next time around.
Happy mylotting!

hi sacmom I really blew it awhile back when I mistyped hate for rate so it came out I hate your discussions highly. the poor mylotter sent me a personal message, asking why do you hate my discussions,I thought you were my friend. so I quickly sent
a message to her saying I meant to type rate and did not see my typo until it was too late, and apologized for having upset her like that, and said,of course you are my friend,I am so sorry.

Hi Hatley, I hope I don't make too many typos. I know you have the habit but I always understand what you are saying and haven't found you coming out with utter nonsense at all. I'm using a lap top these days and don't find the keypad as good as a larger one and find quite often letters disappear upwards into other words, but I think it's sticking a bit, probably due to a bit of yogurt somewhere in the keyboard. Or it could have been the honey that went in the yogurt. But if I do make a typo it is exactly that as my spelling and typing speeds are excellent.
Funnily enough I did once make a glaring error in a title. I typed 'why does pizza come in round boxes?' when obviously I meant to say square. But as everyone of course expected the question to end with square not one single person noticed my error.

hi thea excuse me for the giggle but yogurt on your
keyboard oh my son would say dont you know better than'that.
He had come into my room just as I spilled a half cup of
rootbeer into my keyboard.he says dont you know better than
that? it will ruin your keyboard. okay so he took the thing and he cleaned it for me being all bossy and know it all.then a little later I took a piece of mail into his room and he spilled part of
glass of milk onto his own keyboard.I put my hands on my
hips and said,Dont you know better than that? He looked up at
me as he began to clean his own keyboard and started laughing, '
and soon we were both laughing.

hi kitty42 thats so simple and why the heck didnt I
think of that or was I feeling like the victim at'the
time. I guess I just assumed it was lost.I also found
something out just now. sometimes when i hit post response
my computer is slow to finish everything so if you start
typing before the word done pops up you will lose anything'
you wrote after it finishes .so now I wait a few seconds
to see that word done.its helped me not to lose responses.

I make them ALL the time Hatley so don't feel so along for you're not!! I'm able to correct most of them thanks to firefox which alerts me to a misspelled word but it doesn't tell me when something doesn't sound right and it's hard to make everything make perfect sense but thanks to most of us, who are able to decipher what the meaning is behind all that jibber jabber. LOL

hi catsanddogs good as I hate to think I am the only one with
slippery fingers.he he. I love my new firefox as it does correct my spelling and that is just great, also I can have more than one tab open which is also great. I did not realize I had these three month old discussions. shame on me. but I am getting caught
up on the last day before cutoff

It happens to the best of us and its a bit embarrassing. At least I make it a policy not to be picky about common mistakes in typing here and there. And this reminds me to get my spell checker set up for Opera, so I guess I'll go do that.

hi theprogamer yes and sometimes it is embarrassing as it looks'like you said one thing when you just made a glaring error and hit the
wrong darned key. at least in word you do have the spelling checker.

hi cupkitties right dyslexic good one. Yes I took one year of typing in high school and one in college but now I have not made a whole lot
of progress after all. I was not using my computer for 11 months so I did get a bit rusty.it is slowly coming back to me now.

Hi Hattley,
I make a lot of typos myself, obviously not meaning to but you can't help it I think when you're just typing fast and trying to get your message across. I really don't think it's a problem at an online site, as long as people can understand what it is you're trying to say.

hi dawnald yes I noticed you hAve a very neat typing and
was awed as I do make so many dumb errors and have to
correct a lot.I hate the ones I miss as they always seem
'to scream I am really a good speller, really.

I do that all the time too. I can check and re-check, but it always seems that I miss something. As I am sitting here typing this, I have already had to bacckspace and correct myself about 12 times! At least, this time, I am catchign my mistakes before I submit.

hi lynnemg we all seem to make silly errors and miss some
of them even though we do check several times.I also'
had to backspace as I often type also as aslo which is
maddening.

Isn't it funny that you can carefully type your question or response, re-read it a couple of times for typos, post it and BLAMMO! there they are!
It's actually not us making all those silly mistakes. It is really an electronic issue. All messages must jump on an e-trampoline between being sent and being posted. Like children lining up in the school yard, some of those silly letters just don't get back in line correctly.
I wouldn't worry about it, it seems to happen to everyone.

Oh it happens to everyone so don't bother about it too much. However, if you feel you are getting too many typos, then its better to preview at least twice carefully before you post it, not because anyone's going to comment or laugh, but for your own good so that you'll learn to be more careful.
I personally think that happens mostly because your mind runs faster than you fingers and in the process your typing gets lost on the way, if you know what I mean.

hi suesan oh my mind always outruns my fingers as I am just
not a very good typist and it shows, but one can always proof
read a second time which is an excellent idea. I will try'that '
as it does bother me as I really am a good speller.

It happens a lot of times and not only here in mylot. I guess even with computer and being good at spelling shows that we are human lol. We cant erase the fact that sometimes, no matter how you proofread, there are things we didn't foresee. So it's like horror when you found out that the posted comments or discussion you made has a lot of typos. I am with you for this---making us humans hehe.

This happens to everyone, with practice typing on the keyboard you will get more experience and commit less typos. Now after several years typing on the computer every single day I can typ fast and almost make no typos. My English is not perfect though so I may type something that I think is correct then it may be wrong.

caetanomiguelp hi my but I think you are doing really well
in your English. If I tried to learn a different language
I would not be nearly as good as you are right now.
