The World's Worst Cook

I'm not a good cook. I can't boil an egg. My hamburgers come out like round, rubber balls. My noodles are overcooked. My pizza is so runny that the cheese is holding up a white flag. The other day I tried to bake a chicken. The chicken wouldn't go in the oven. He put up a sign that said he was going on strike. I just can't get this cooking gig. I guess I'll have to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the rest of my life.

Haha, I was once like you zebra2222. I got so sick and tired of being a bad cook that eventually, I took up cookery classes and just kept practicing and practicing my culinary skills until I could eventually cook to a bearable standard

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get better as time goes along. Hate to take your title of worst cook away, but in my kids opinions my step-mom is the Queen of Inedible Food lol. When we'd have to go over and help them take care of their house, yard, etc, my kids would always beg me to not make them eat there. It was funny, they would have rather starved than eat her cooking hahaha. So I'd tell them to grab a sandwich to eat on the way over so I could honestly say 'we already ate, but thanks for the offer!'

Hi zebra, I taught myself to cook and I don't believe that it can't be self taught but you just have to expect a few mishaps along the way. What you really need is one really good cookery book to start with, like an idiot's guide in a way. I'd recommend Delia Smith's 'How to Cook', you'll recognise it by the picture of a boiled egg on the front. It gives you the basics before you start to become adventurous. If you really can't boil and egg did you really think you'd manage a whole chicken. Start simple and progress, there's no elusive mystery to it once you get the hang of it.

i don't know what made you so negative. I was considered like that too. Because i was a book worm and every body thought I just know to read book, never to be a practical person to cook. but they all are wrong. I became a person who love cooking and is good at cooking too. You don't know what will happen in your life. Maybe one day you will be interested in cooking and become a very good cook. Maybe one day some one give you the motivation to cook. Who knows?

Who said you can't? C'mon! Buckle up! I'll tell you what. Just do this. Skin and cube a cucumber, a tomato, shred some spinach and coriander. Take one part vegetable or chicken ar any other stock and one part yogurt and mix. Mix the vegetables in. Add salt and pepper to taste, You have cold soup. Experiment step by step and you will get it. Eat your mistakes, you will not commit them again. Happy cooking.

Cooking is all about proportion and timing. Keep trying, you'll figure it out, and like a previous post said...you can always eat the evidence. I'd say get a good and basic cook book with explanations of the terms used and start with a few things in there, you'll get it..it does take a bit of practice, but everyone is capable.

I guess you will have to eat from resturants or packaged food for the rest of your life. Unless you learn to cook from someone else, instead of wasting the food trying to cook yourself. Ask your mother to teach you.
